    • Settled for removing the carrier banner entirely. (Thanks isaacj87 for the idea's again!)
      • There's no clear and easy way to build both carriers into 1 ROM.
  • 0.05c:
    • Google Apps bug popped back up due to missing a patch after a format. Fixed!
  • 04062011:
    • Cleaned up WIFI. Should have better performance now. Increased the scan interval time to save battery life.
    • Added missing binary that is needed for radio functions. Should help improve signal strength.
    • Added some things to Mms/carrier info.
    • Added missing library (libmmprocess) needed for camera. Minor Camera app fixes.
    • Cleaned up few other areas to decrease ROM size.
    • Versioning is now: CM6-Ascend-MMDDYYYY-[BUILD(X)]. The BUILD(X) will only be attached when there is more than one build a day.
      • I like being uniform and it just looks so much better!
    • I'm probably forgetting something.

my wifi keeps going offand sometimes itll come back on what can i do to fix this? no mms is not an issue for me since i can do that from email but wifi is a must its a major reason i bought this phone can any one help me here????? and will there be automatic updates for cm6 or will it be all manual?

the push updates for CM are for 'supported' phones, which the Ascend isnt, its just ported because of a few nice guys like isaac n pip!!! :D

without more information I couldnt even begin to speculate what might be happening.

Even on stock, the WiFI will get "stuck" sometimes. I dl/d QuickSettings and have had no problems since. CM6 is a stable as Icarus from my experiences with it. Sounds like more likely you may have a router issue. I had a router that just started refusing to issue IPs and severed connections from time to time. Needless to say, it had a quick death. I can probably help you , but need some specific info, such as if it is only one network this is happening on, if multiple, are they open or encrypted, and how often is it happening. The more you can give me the better I can help figure it out, but first blush says it is either a hardware issue with the access point or hardware issue with your internal WiFi adapter. Software is easy to blame, but rarely the actual issue, in my experience.

ive instaled cm7 and that issue is gone but now the cell signal is doing the same im not sure whats the issue any info will be verry much apreciated

2 things that come to mind for me at least.

1. Reprogram the phone for the carrier. Not sure what the dial code is for this with Metro, as I am with Cricket, but your CS should be able to tell you.

2. You have a bad phone that needs to be replaced.

The problems you are describing have nothing to do with either of the ROMs you have used. I know that Metro has a reputation for weak signal in some areas, but no actual experience with it. If all else fails, flash back to stock, then do a FULL wipe of the phone again. Might redownload the zips too, just in case you had packet loss during the dl (VERY rare, but not unheard of). Start from scratch, redo everything and see if you can get the problem to replicate. Let me know how it goes.
 
yup yup. Need what carrier, what have you done to your phone, maybe recent apps.

<---Placing your phone info in your profile is a big help too. To do that look in usercp ;)
 
if you go to metro facebook, you will see alot of babies on there whinning about the update, but you will see alot of peoples talking about their service is down and those peoples are on stock rom....hope this helps....
 
Lol nice. How would ya go about getting a hold of a system dump? I find this stuff fascinating. Its like learning a new language and culture. lol.

Prolly several methods lol, most likely someones gets a hold of one, roots it, installs clockwork recovery on it, saves a backup, moves backup files to a PC n zips them. The some one savvy will clean the unneeded crap off of it and maybe add a few nice things lol.
 
Well if I come across someone with tapout edition I will do all that for you all. Well who ever it is that is actually working on this mod. I just need to find someone first. lol.

I want a copy too lol. I'm no isaac or pip by no means, but I am trying to learn a thing or two about these android phones ;)

If I recall correctly Z4Root doesnt work on 2.2, so rooting 2.2 is done the manual way I think. Once rooted it gets easy lol.

I am as we speak, trying to flash back to CM6. I am on cricket so will let everyone know! :D

Well reflashed and tried to send an mms. Just sits on the screen saying sending...:(

Did you punch in the APN settings? I looked under Networks and could not find the option to punch them. Anyone know where it is in the menus?
 
I can remember when installing Icarus, I had to go to settings/wireless networks/mobile networks/apn to get mms working. I tried to see if maybe that would work here with CM6, but there is no option for apn. Anything else I might be able to change or look at?

Same question here. Been looking for a bit, and not seeing anyplace to punch it in.
