COMPLETELY lost data connection!!!

Glad you got it fixed. It definitely sucks when someone screws something up like that, but it does happen. If I were you, I'd see about getting this month of service waived since you didn't have data and for all your trouble. I'd say it's the least they can do.

Happens to me all the time.. I'll turn my mobile network on and off amd still the same thing. The fix for me is just restarting the phone and everything starts to come in.

Sooo.... Evrything was hunky dory today. I had my WIFI on to stream some videso.

I shut the WIFI off, go to get an email, and NO DATA CONNECTION!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

So I called VZW, who had me pull the sim card (and hence the battery). I have data connectivity, but for how long???

Man, I'm really starting to lose patience with this sh*t.

I just turned the WIFI back on and will toggle off to see wtf is going on. If you see a large mushroom cloud over Boston, that will be my head exploding....

Have you tried the update that (unofficially) arrived today? I'm hoping that is the fix. Unfortunately, I am now Thunderbolt-less so I'm gonna have to depend on others.

Not yet. I'm giving it a week and if they haven't pushed the OTA I will add it manually. I'm trying to avoid yet another factory reset.

I sent both htc and Verizon a "love note." Maybe this will help things, but I doubt it.

Most HTC phones have #3. This won't get fixed.

Aileen - Instead of laying a mushroom cloud, download the LTE ON/OFF app from the market. That way, when you lose 4G connection, you can manually drop your phone down to 3G and you'll still have you data connection.

^this did not fix my issue. If anything it made it worse (from 1-2x a day to 4-5x a day)

To add insult to injury, I learned about LTE ON/OFF through the lady at my verizon store when I began having issues. When I returned because I continued having issues, she suggested that LTE ON/OFF was the cause (!) (though clearly I had been having the problems before she originally suggested it). She reset my phone, repartitioned the SIM and said after those steps a reset would fix it. After she reset it and turned it on -NO DATA.

Geeze. And THIS is why I start to hear the Benny Hill theme when I call or enter a VZW store. Brutal ignorance at its worst.

its what their trained to do, there idiotic steps at solving nothing! if most csr's had to actually pass some sort of testing prior to selling / trouble shooting phones most would fail.:p

my #1 pet-peeve is when you talk to any csr they automatically say oh yea have that phone but cannot offer any "real" suggestions into fixing it!

i have went thru about 25+ devices within the past year (rooted and not) and the tbolt by far has been giving me the most problems, i even considered going back to my fascinate and living without 2.2:eek:

so i am currently awaiting delivery of my 4th bolt hopefully it will not be a FAIL! like the last 3  should be here any minute and if its not up to par it too will get sent back and vzw can keep racking up overnight shipping charges till i deem the phone 100% functioning whether it takes me 10 more bolts oh yes a lighting storm is coming!

FML another bolt just arrived and its another funked up one! FML

Are any of you folks with these issues using the 2750 battery? Ive been experiencing crazy issues with either the door or the battery itself.

Wow! Are you sure this is not user error? 25 devices within 1 year is an ENORMOUS number to go through.

oh i should have mentioned those where by choice not hardware issues, ive hopped around from this to that but the bolt is the only one that has had repeated issues

Haven't had another data drop again. *fingers crossed* BUT my TB thought I was in Oakland, CA again the other day. I thought for sure it meant I'd have no data, but it was fine.

So far, so good....;)

Good for you. Was it the new sim & phone that fixed your issues or what?

Oakland...could have been worse...could have put you in Omaha. :p

Just kidding, nothing against Omaha NE.

Sorry about your trials, but your thread is entertaining. Keep us posted. I like the mushroom cloud the best. Glad I am not in Boston, down here in DC we have enough worries about mushroom clouds.

No, b/c they couldn't get the phone to activate (no data) when the new SIM was inserted into the new phone. (The did after about 1/2 an hour & told me that a VZW rep had made changes to my account- ie as if I had a different phone- mistakenly and never corrected it.)

idk what did it. Maybe the multiple phone calls/emails I sent to VZW? LOL

I will post again if I lose data. The latest guy I spoke to said it was a packet hand-off issue.

Will you be going back to the TB?
