Pricing and release date rumours

Can we please use this thread to post any rumours about the price or release date?

I've not seen much so far, other than the confirmed announcement that Vodafone will be shipping this device in 'mid-May' with other carriers following in June. Not seen any pricing rumours yet.

According to this german shop, 600 eur, Delivery date unknown... of course this might be subject to change.. I mean I really hope so..

600 pounds? Not a chance. Not when the Samsung Galaxy II is going to be cheaper. With better specs.
 
with a flurry of phones coming out it will be interesting to see whether this one hits the spot. I'm thinking maybe wait til late summer for nicer/shinier stuff to be released. Could the first batch of dual cores be battery eaters....?

HD is bad enough!

Right, I don't speak dutch but what does this mean
"Verwachte levering vanaf: 15 juni"
Does it mean that it's expected to be delivered in may? :)

Anyway, we've got lot's of stores saying it will come 23/25/28may etc or 8/10/12june etc but I'm pretty sure those are all guesses, not to be trusted...

1) It's most likely a placeholder price.
2) Hardware isn't everything. With HTC you would be purchasing better software, better support (devices are upgraded through multiple software versions) and a better developer community.

My mistake... I was confusing it with the Galaxy SII. Sensation expected 15th of June.. .Galaxy SII in May :)
 
Better software on the HTC is debatable. Sense vs TouchWiz is personal preference. The HTC might have a finicky bootloader and the Samsung without, as trends go. Samsung has done a lot to utilize the dual cores and speed up the browser and UI. There are vids of it running multiple pages and multiple flash videos on each page while still scrolling smoothly and zooming in/out rapidly without hiccups. I'm debating both phones, so don't point any fingers.

Right, normally I would agree, but don't think many people who have tested both fairly would choose TouchWiz...

I have...and I'm not writing this in a Samsung thread...

Everything is personal preference...
"Ohh, the other phone has twice the CPU speed of the one I'm buying? Well, that's a huge minus for that phone since it will draw more battery..."

The _only_ thing that I would trade with the SGS2 is the 16gb internal memory, everything else I choose HTC (except the higher price(?))

hehe you got me there, I don't think the higher RAM in the SGS does very much difference in performance though, but to be fair it's two things...

Some points to note on this price:
*Not definitive ( will probably go down more )
*We've got a relative VAT on 5% more than the UK for instance, which is included in this cash (free from carrier) price.
*The price difference between SGS2 and Sensation is almost negligible here this far, and since the price is likely to drop even more I wouldn't worrie...

Since English isn't my native language I'm very interested in phrases and I didn't really understand "a dam sight cheaper. " .
Does this mean "alot cheaper" "a little bit cheaper" or something like that?
 
Anyone have any new info. on the UK release date? Is it really being released by Vodafone on May 12th on these shores??
