Root New Skin + Rosie Landscape

UBRocked

VZW Nexus Please!!!
i hate potrait only when im on a sense rom and actually using the sense launcher  next time im on a sense rom im defiantely going to give this a shot :)

The skin is called Linear Sense and it's decent.

The big draw with this skin is that if you are running the Das BAMF or boLTEd ROM, there is an additional framework modification that allows you to use the sense launcher (aka Rosie) in landscape mode.

Linear Sense *Beta* 4.5.2011 Rosie Landscape - xda-developers

Right now, im running Lightning 2.1.1 will this work for me. Also another question, if i download a theme and install it, does it over write one of the existing themes, or does it get added to the overall number?

The theme itself (the .apk one) will function just like any theme you are using. You simply go into personalize and pick it, it will not over write any other theme. You can use that on any ROM you want.

Now the additional file (the .zip one) is only for the two ROMs mentioned and will add a more robust theme to the ROMs.

ska.t73 is correct. The .apk file is an ordinary skin that will even work on other devices...as long as it has the sense 2.0+.

The additional file that gives you the landscape capability actually modifies the phone's framework. The only two ROMs that were listed as having compatible framework with this mod is Das BAMF and boLTEd. If you are running a different ROM and install the mod, you may likely find yourself stuck in a boot loop when you go to restart your phone and have to restore with CWR.

Then again...maybe it just wasn't tested on your ROM. Just make sure you create a good backup beforehand if you are up for "giving it a shot". ;)

Nice... Thank you, I've been waiting for this. I would like my circle battery widget back though. Thanks again!

Just pull the framework from the .zip file you downloaded and go to the UOT Kitchen.

http://uot.dakra.lt/

1) upload the framework
2) configure the battery mod section
3) go to summary tab and cook the file
4) flash in CWR

That was easier than I thought. Thanks for the nudge.:D I have my Bolt tricked out perfectly now. (Yeah, I didn't believe myself either);) Now I'm off to see what needs some polish... I love this forum, everyone is so helpful.

Glad you got it, the Kitchen is awesome. And yes this site is very good, it helped me more then you can possibly imagine when I had my OG Droid. I knew that no matter what I did to the poor thing someone here would be able to help me out.

And this theme is pretty awesome. BGill makes very very good themes (they are always deep in terms of what all they theme), he came over from WinMo and did a ton of awesome work on the OG Droid. Nice to see him on the Bolt.

I flashed the new radio, then DAS_BAMF 1.5 Remix. Next I flashed the new skin + Rosie. After I booted up my new COOL launcher was gone. I also tried the Landscape rosie without the theme but lost my launcher as well. Has anyone got the new 1.5 remix to work with this?
Thanks!

Edit: You have to clear the htc sense defaults in manage apps then the option to use the sexy rosie will come up when you hit the home button

In order to get sexy rosie launcher2 to work go to settings, applications, manage applications, select htc sense rosie and clear the Defaults (NOT DATA) :) Been there, done that. :)

how do you install exactly? what does it change? will it change the cool notification bar/app drawer etc.? i hope not, just wondering

It will replace your app drawer with a stock looking one...but the notification bar will remain unchanged (that's part of the framework...not the launcher).

Just go HERE, download the "Stock Rosie Landscape" file listed at the bottom of the first post (which is a .zip file) and put it on the root of your sd card (don't rename it, don't unzip it). Then just boot into clockwork recovery and select "install ROM from sd card".

Simple...easy. If you still have questions, let me know where you are getting stuck. IMO, the landscape support is more important any possible changes made to the app drawer.

The app drawer is cool but not my favorite feature--what about the 3 cool buttons on the bottom for das bamf 1.5 remix?? does it change that? or is the app drawer the only thing?

so if i do not like the landscape mode how can i undo it? do i flash my first saved image or just redo bamf? or is it a one-time thing? (undo-able)

sorry for the simple questions, everytime i reboot into CWM and load something my heart is racing! lol... thanks for any response--

BTW--- how does the landscape look?!

Well, make a backup in Clockwork Recovery before you flash anything (good rule of thumb). If you don't like it, just restore the backup. All you will lose is a little of your time ;)

If you go into your "Personalize" menu, and select the dusk skin after you flash the landscape rosie .zip file, you will have your themed launcher back. This is the one from the non-remixed version of 1.5 BAMF.

And...I think it looks pretty good.

Can the launcher that come on the 1.5 remix be installed after the stock rosie is flashed? I like it better than the dusk skin.

for some reason im having a lot of trouble---

i followed your exact directions and downloaded the rosie stock to my SD.

when i boot in recovery and try to find zip, the only one that comes up are bamf and "rosie scroll" not the one i just downloaded. so i keep backing out because i cant find the file--- i thought it seemed easy... haha:(

-plz help!

I thought the dusk theme was what was used in the Remix. I've got the non-remix version so mine looks different. You might have to just see what skins are available...but you shouldn't lose the themed skin.

Are you putting it on your sd card...or your internal storage? Make sure the file is named as Stock_rosie_landscape_bgill55.zip and that you don't have the file name ending in .zip.zip or something like funky like that (sometimes files are renamed depending on what browser you used to download it).

Rosie launcher auto rotate - Droid Forum - Verizon Droid & the Motorola Droid Forum

what about renaming it and doing it this way??

seems to be so easy idk why it wont work--

Yeah, it's just a little bit of code to change but you have to decompile the launcher, edit, and then recompile. The .zip download is the easiest way to go.

Are you downloading the .zip from your phone? If so, it is being saved in /sdcard/downloads

I'd just download it from your computer and then move it over to the root of your sd card.

Yeah you can select it from ROM manager. Make sure you do not wipe data and cache. Remember to make a backup if you havent done so.
