Root How To Get Updated

Alright thanks.
Couple of questions here,
1. Is hboot just another name for the Bootloader (android skateboarding screen)?
2. When a ZIP has a folder in it called META-INF, does that mean that I need to flash it with the recovery? (btw, switched to the Amon_RA one, and I like it a lot better)

I quit using swipe when I got this big bad evo screen. Seemed quicker to use two thumbs then to drag my finger back and forth.

Although I can not find the option to allow my volume keys to move the cursor. I had it once and have looked and looked. It might be in a different key board.....on this note and I am sure the answer is no but can I use a sense keyboard on an asop rom.

You were already beaten to that idea on the thread a couple threads down called ready to root. They suggested the bible akazabam

Well damn, I'm just too slow. Or, I need to spend more time on the forums, then I'd have known that. The Akazabam Bible. The Bible according to akaza... it all sounds so good.

Yes
Yes

I checked out that keyboard evomattnc, you're right, it's ugly as hell.

And whats with all the permissions it requires? I've never installed a keyboard besides this one, so I don't know if that's normal.

Anyways, thanks, I'm enjoying it, it's pretty fast.

Yeah I've stuck with it. I do like the way it works is like a combo of swype and swift key or something....i really do have to try and theme this though or keep an eye out for a theme on xda

Yeah, I haven't switched it out since installing it. I might just take up my first theme-ing endeavor with this one.
Also, I'm not sold on the kind of pop-up effect some of the letters have, on some of them it looks off. And it covers up the letters above it a little strangely (to me at least).

The whole thing is weird really. It's a paid app in market so it should be warez but that came straight from a t mobile port yet it seems a tad buggy with some special characters missing...i may just buy the one on market...

Hmm.. that makes me a tad nervous. Do you think those permissions were normal for a keyboard (I hadn't ever installed a keyboard before that one).

Definitely don't like the idea of having warez on my phone. But, if it's in the port from T-mob.... strange.

Well its not like i just pulled it from the interweb :) Its a recent post on xda in the development section that is still up. Someone ported a tmobile rom over and this keyboard was included. A couple dropped in and said it was warez but if tmobile is providing it stock then its like swype, it was warez till it was in an ota.

I dont have any concerns about the permissions most permissions can be explained, its a smart keyboard, those permissions look pretty standard. It needs to access sd card for language stuff, needs to access contacts, it adds them to its dictionary, stuff like that.

Its just a little "off" cuz its a port i imagine which is why i was considering buying the market version because i like it enough and would like it to be full functioning.

Oh, I wasn't trying to imply that you were the source of the possible warez, just that anything that is potentially warez gets me nervous.

And I understand that it's from a T-mobile port, so I would assume that it would be safe, but I'm not an expert.

Yeah, I guess with a bit of explanation those perms. make more sense.

Hmm.. thinking about it, (and without looking at the xda post you mention) I bet it's more of an ethical look at taking parts from an official rom (port) and if those could then be considered warez. (like if your comp came with a game or something? idk)
