Root Needdd help! root 2.2.2?

okay so i just updated to 2.2.2 and i need to root it so i can flash Velocity 1.1 ROM im new to this stuff so if you could please explain for a beginner that would be great! i appreciate it!

Will work on 2.2.2 use the gengerbreak method.

Should also work but I don't know of anyone testing it with 2.2.2 on ally yet

I am not sure if they found a way to root it from 2.2.2 yet you could try root methods they have Im just not sure if they work.......
I highly suggest SOC.... alot of people may disagree with me but I have rooted a few different phones with it....... and yes you wont have fast boot but I have never heard of a user needing to use it....... SOC is for the beginners users its like training wheels..... I would also suggest doing research before you jump into the wonderful world of rootTM
