New X owner

Hi all! I'm new to Android and smartphones. I am waiting for my new Droid X to arrive and already have questions. The biggest is about upgrading to 2.2

I have read that some have experienced problems with upgrading to the Android 2.2 So the big question...have the issues been ironed out or should I stick with 2.1 ?

Also I've seen a ton of rumors about 2.3 being available soon, any truth to it?

Your new X will already have 2.2 loaded on it so no worries about upgrading, 2.2 was a huge improvement so enjoy! As for 2.3 the latest rumor is later this month but nothing official and nothing to fret about.
 
+1. 2.2 runs incredibly smooth on the DX, 2.3 will be even better whenever we get it. enjoy your new toy.
 
Gingerbread is coming out soon. I have out on my dx now. It's fantastic!
