Anyone used this yet, I obviously need a compatible DLNA device, can I get software for my vista laptop to make this work? What about xbox 360?

PS3 will do it. not sure about xbox 360
and also the method stated above - i'd use xbmc but that's personal preference.

ive tried it on my samsung tv, streaming pics vids n images works fine, it does have a screenshare option on my tv but i cant get that to work

essentially, your SGS2 needs to be connected to your home network via wireless. and you laptop connected to the home network via wired or wireless.

XBMC makes the laptop into a media server, so you should be able to see your laptop on your phone (through DLNA Allshare) and stream and music or movies from it. the same goes for vice versa - stream music or videos from SGS2 on your laptop.

Cheers mate, got it to stream from phone to laptop, but not the other way, have added the folders on pc, but no joy, any ideas?

What I would like to know is why when you list all the files it only shows a certain amount.
As in ~ The video files shown are only one's taken using the default Camera App.
I can't find a way to display then send say a movie file I have copied onto the phone.

On my Tab it displays other video files, so why is it the SGSII does not?

what are you trying to do? play content from your phone on your telly?

if so, it's probably because your telly isn't able to play that file format.

but answer to the question and we'll be able to help you better.

You can use Boxee or XBMC to play files from your SGS2 on your PC.

What are you talking about? You dont need any special software. Why would you do that?

This thread and it's replies are like the twilight soon...why do people make things complicated?

ps3 will (should) be able to stream video's / photo's/ music from the sgs2. as long as the sgs2 is connected to my network.

At this stage it does not matter whether the files are going to a TV or PC, it is what is not being displayed on the phone using Allshare I am questioning.

I made it perfectly clear... I have video files on the SGS2 that are not being shown in the list using Allshare.
Again Allshare is only displaying video files taken using the phones camera.
It should be able to list other video files as well, just as on my Tab.

Has anyone else noticed this?

I've used this to stream to my Samsung 3d tv works well (not sure about which formats it supports yet).

I've also streamed media from my dlink NAS running minidlna to watch xvids, however the samsung says that mkv are not supported which is a bit annoying. Anyone managed to stream mkv to their phone?
