My DROID Charge Review

Great Review, Rob! I found the quadrant rather surprising. Lte is important, but for me so is processing time. I think I'm going to skip this one. I do like the screen though.

Great review! So all in all.... maybe ill wait...I think I will stick with my DX...I was not really impressed with the thunderbolt(it is an amazing phone just not for me at the time)..and not really impressed with the charge(it is an amazing phone just not for me at the time)....but if the software issues are worked out I may reconsider...

So Rob, after using the phone do you think after three months you would be annoyed with the phone or consider keeping it....after I got my DX it was lilke a breath of fresh air.(at least with my experience)...

Does the Charge have Samsung's Action Shot mode in the camera app like the Galaxy S has? I assume so since it is TouchWiz, but I just want to confirm since that is the main reason I am switching to a Samsung.

It does have the action shot mode.

I made an attempt at winning this phone and failed, but it was nice to look at and I like your review, Rob. I just don't think I'd jump ship to this one even if I had the money or upgrade date, because it simply lacks processing power that should be there with that screen and 4G.

I don't worry so much about the quadrant or current software because root will mean that the bloat will be taken out and a better browser such as Dolphin HD can be used. That will make a big difference.

Nice review, so the question is the phone looks great excelt for web surfing, do you think that is a bug that will be fixed of a design flaw doomed to live with the phone, seems to be a massive oversight to let that stay liek that on such a nice phone. Probably goes to show a dual core would probably be smoking.

If I was high up in Verizon's food chain right now, I'd be looking to Fire every person who did testing for the charge. How on earth can you miss that crazy lag on the Web Browser...its actually pretty painful to watch during a review.

Thanks for the review.. I am seriously considering this as I am on my 4th Droid X and have gotten very irritated with it

I am also considering this one. I have an EVO on sprint now and am thinking of switching over to Verizon. The 4g side of the sprint network is a bad joke. Even if you are in a 4g area its hard to stay connected. Try driving and forget it. I wouldnt care so much about 4g if sprint had a better 3g network.

I am on the side of not really thinking a quadrant score matters. Or not really seeing the need for a dual core processor. Sure if it had one and it didnt hurt the battery than i would certainly take it. But to let a single vs dual core make my decision just doesnt seem like the best idea. To each his own. I almost never play games on my phone. Maybe angry birds once in a while.

Of course the screen is what seems to be the strongest feature on this phone. The camera is getting good reviews also. I think taking quality pics of my kids ranks a little higher currently than a quadrant score.

Not saying everyone should think like me. But i know i use lots of data, camera and screen. So this phone is a contender. Not a sure thing yet until I test it out myself.

299 is steep. But with 32gigs coming with it and no upcharge for LTE I can see why its that price.

The Thunderbolt also has 32GB plus more internal, more RAM, same LTE, is actually available today, is $249 at Verizon, Amazon had it for $129. Its very much like the EVO with improved CPU, display, more memory, LTE.

The Charge has HDMI out that works really well and also comes with a $25 media hub credit. The real only thing the Thunderbolt has over the Charge is voice and data over 3g. I never cared about this feature. I live in a 4g area so if I needed to look something up while I was on the phone I would be able to anyway.
