Root DX ROM help

hey guys.. i'm coming from a D1 and TBolt... i bought an X so i could share in the fun and flash ROMs with my bud...

i Z4 rooted, got Bootstrap and tried ZombieStomp as my first ROM. now i'm hung on the bootscreen. was i supposed to update to some newer stock version before i did this?

i JUST did this so the boot is still just sitting there. should i pull the batt or anything particular?

can i sbf VRZ_MB810_2.3.34_1FF_01.sbf..... i believe thats the latest. or do i have to revert to what i had?

and i take it .340 is Froyo

Yes, GB is a leak...has to be installed through Clockwork Recovery as a .zip file*


*unless you find the original non-rooted .588 version of GB...which could be installed through Stock Recovery because it was signed by Motorola
 
oh but it is...... and 4G cooks! we're the beta testers and have had our share of kinks along the way, but if the Bolt was the first Android phone, ummmmmmm game over!

both of these devices are shoulders above my ol' D1 and they're both great! lets hope Ice Cream and Jellybean are wonderful!
 
perfect..... just what i did. according to directions, DEODEX. oh no i forgot to put that on my SD. can i boot and put in on there, bootstrap and continue or should i do all over again?

595 is what i forgot..... i'm good up to this step

.588 is perfectly stable...if you have installed that all the way...then go ahead and let the phone reboot...your Google account should begin to sync your apps (after you get it all set up)...

once this happens...verify that you have root access..by obviously trying to run a root only app...and then just put .595 on your sd card and go back into clockwork and flash away...

the only hiccup i can see you running into is that you will be rooted, but busybox will not be installed...its no problem...and some root apps will download and install it for you (i know jrummy's apps do, as well as titanium backup)
 
wow, GB looks nice so far! real nice... but 595 is on the way. i have no root apps. i do have my trusty su pirate ninja. so i'll go out on a limb and keep going.

after that, Zombiestomp...... heard good thing about it!

well you're going to need Clockwork recovery...that is a root app...
