Sprint EVO 3D preorder discussions inside.

This might seem like a stupid question, but on the day that the evo 3d is announced (let's say june 3rd for example) will it be up for sale on the sprint website at midnight on june 3rd? I want to get the phone on launch day, and I was thinking about pre-ordering, but I don't want to pay the activation fee they charge if you purchase it in-store. However, I also don't want it to be sold out before I can order it online and wait a month for them to restock...

Correct me if I am wrong but you will have to wait until Telesales for Sprint open at 8 AM on 3 June. Telesales does not stay open all night long. And I doubt the EVO 3D is going to warrant having Telesales open at midnight. By reading this forum you think this phone is going to be to hot to handle. Thing is that the average joe smoe knows nothing about the release of the HTC EVO 3D. How many people actual subscribe to ESPN magazine and saw the add for the HTC EVO 3D? I sure as hell didn't and I doubt any phone geek has as well.

They don't have to appeal to phone geeks - just 3D geeks and there's a lot of those out there.

Any phone targeted specifically to the geek crowd is not going to sell in big numbers.

You should see it up on Sprint's website at midnight. Normally that is the case. I know that many people wait up late just to let everyone know a certain phone is up on the website when it is release day.

Telesales is not the same as the website. Telesales you have to call in to order. The website you can order online whenever it is available online.

Hey folks, I received an email FROM SPRINT asking me if I wanted to preorder!!!! Now I don't know what I did with it. I will go searching all of my different clients and the delete folders.....I will post back up if I find anything...

Must have been a dream or something....no evidence. I think it might have been a text and it looks like I may have deleted it. Any way to see your deleted texts???

Yep....that would be it...although I thought it had something to do with preordering..... I was in one of those deleting frenzies I guess and now I can't find it...

But it is an insane 'preorder' they give you a $50 gift certificate (like radio shack and best buy) but refuse to say the final price. At least with bestbuy you can spend the $50 on decent stuff; what would you buy at sprint if for example the phone is delayed 6 months ?

(I don't actually think it is going to be delayed 6 months but you get the point).

How does the preorder work if you change your mind? Seeing as how the phone isn't available to try or a final price set, there seems to be a bit too many variables to pin down. I'm out of contract on my Droid Inc and with Verizon's pathetic line of LTE phones and recent announcment of doing away with unlimited plans, I'm more than ready to switch to Sprint!

Only the Senasation and SGII have my attention. I would REALLY want to see the 3D in person. If Sprint can keep this phone subsidized for 2 yrs <at $250 or less I think it will sell pretty nicely.

Does anyone know if Sprint does 1yr contracts? Verizon killed their 1yr contacts too.

You could always put the $ 50.00 toward your bill. But I agree with you. I don't see the advantage of getting a pre ordered phone with a gift card at Sprint. Theres not much to buy there. At Best Buy and Radio Shack there is no mail in rebate. Sprint has the no mail in rebate until June 4th. If the phone does not come out by then will they extend it? And why are they still not giving us a price?

I was first on the list at my Sprint Store. But they told me don't plan on them calling you and I should probably show up on the release date of the phone and pick mine up. Just FYI.

That's probably going to vary by store. I can't see them just not telling people they can come get their phone.

Its just a $50 gift card with it being noted on my account that its for the EVO 3D. I mean next week that electronic list could be wiped out. I think they put your name on a list online. I don't know about Sprint but since when have they called customers to pick up pre-orders? Doesn't Best Buy do appointments? Not sure about how RS does things.

To be on the safe side I will just go down to the store and pick mine up on release date.

lol. you use the gift card when you buy the phone.
hopefully sprint will continue the instant rebate AND you can just put the bill on your account and walk out the door.

The store I did it at didn't do anything with my account, they just took my name and a phone number to reach me at.

The receipt I received didn't have anything special on it either. If they are going to do pre-orders the receipt should have something on there saying its for the EVO 3D and what your customer number. But what do I know.

I did Radio Shack for the 4G and already preordered the 3D there as well. I had to work 7am-3pm that day though so I couldn't get mine til after work, so I dunno if they do appointments or not. This time I'm hoping for the 3rd of June cause I don't work until 3pm so I can go at opening at 9.

I got my 4G at Radio Shack last year and they did take appointments. Not sure if they are this year. I am not going to do a preorder this year until they give a release date.
