Root [ROM] VelocityLite

I am very confused about this ROM and I don't want this to come across as rude\argumentative.

Is this an actual ROM you created or is this nothing more than the work of others (i.e., the original Velocity 1.1) with a few of the apps removed that 'they' included with the ROM originally. Granted, i'll give you the theme might be your own creation, but it doesn't seem like you did anything to actually create this ROM other than remove a few apps and theme it. And that could have been done by anyone with the original Velocity 1.1 by simply using 7Zip to remove the apps before they flashed it. I do that with every ROM I ever try because it allows me to debloat the ROM before I flash it and avoid having to remove things after the fact with Titanium Backup or some other app. Takes all of 30 seconds.

Again, not trying to be argumentative and maybe you did actually make technical changes to the guts of Velocity to improve it, but those changes aren't obvious or mentioned in your ROM announcement. Seems a little bit (or maybe a lot) of thanks in your ROM announcement should have been directed at the original Velocity 1.1 creators since it appears they did most of the hard work in creating your ROM.

I'm sure that if team velocity felt slighted by this release we would know by now. Take a step back man. Enjoy and don't criticize without having the facts.

I read about it. Was merely asking about the user experience from someone who was already running the rom. Is that an unacceptable request in the forums? Don't remember reading anything about that in forum rules.
 
Getting mad at these kids would be an exercise in futility. We "condone" this mod even though as mentioned its nothing fancy. We understand that not everyone has the ability / patience to make their own "lite" version.

So props to these guys for trying to make things easier. We all have to start somewhere, I mean heck remember when I used to port themes? Remember the Luna blowup?

Maybe getting involved in a project like this will build the skills needed to make something more unique/creative.

Maybe I am just starting to be less defensive and caring a little less.

Maybe I am beginning to realize its just a phone and nothing we do is worth getting heated over.

I didn't critcize. In fact, I went out of my way to explain that it was not meant to be rude\argumentative (somehow you missed that part or didn't take the time to read it). I asked a question so I could get the facts. I would like to know if any changes were made other than the theme and a few apps. If not, then there is no sense in me trying this ROM because i've already done the same thing on my own before I flashed the original Velocity 1.1.

Plus, I see no credit going to the original creators of Velocity 1.1. That to me is not cool. Those guys worked hard to make that ROM and I think a little thank you or credit to them is deserved. That's all i'm saying.

Note i took no credit, and said it was based off the ROM created by Team Velocity. Jus' sayin. Only took credit for what i did, which was theme and bootani. And yes, you CAN do it yourself. The point is so people don't HAVE to. But maybe i should give more thanks, so it has been added.
 
I updated the post. Added the first DAF package. Someone asked for the tehtering apps. And now, here it is! Flash in recovery.

Sorry couldn't help but asking when you'll be putting up the link to this rom again? Sorry but I love this rom and want to put it on another ally (my friend's phone). Thanks in advance.

"Another ROM?"

Not to sound mean if this does, but i love new roms. I flash my device almost daily for my ROM im building so i love flashing new ones to take a break.

OH, And in my absense from the Andbuntu and Jolicloud scene, I think my release of STORMDROID shall be quite exquisite. Just gotta finish the ends up and cut it down. Its a little on the beefy side (~300+ Megs) Hint Hint

As for Terminal Velocity its just a mod, stripped down, reskinned. You could do this to your own Velocity 1.1 install using the scripts and toolkit, this will just already have things removed.
