Root [ROM] GB-CMod7-Beta

Everytime i go to plug in my phone to the pc and hit mount as storage,it force reboots.it JUST started happening this morning..anyone know what it could be? ive had this ROM for weeks now and havent had this problem..

Exactly what's been happening to me. I've been toggling usb through recovery since it started on mine.

Is there an ETA on a bluetooth fix? Or has anyone found a workaround? I really want to try out this ROM, but I need bt functionality for work. :)

Overall I like this ROM, however I seem to have a few minor problems:

* CM Settings>Lockscreen>Unlock Options - Menu Unlock
Problem: Menu key always unlocks the phone, doesn't matter if the box is checked or not.

* CM Setting>Display> - Screen-On/Screen-Off Animation
Problem: I'm not sure if these is the cause of my problem but with them both checked off and I lock my screen, when I go to unlock my screen it lights up black and I would have to touch the screen to get to my unlock menu. (Makes unlocking the phone feel slow)

I also have some problems with certain programs that use GPS tracking:
Endomondo - FC as soon as I try to start it
Noom - FC as soon as I start "Track Exercise"

I'm also having some battery draining issues although it's very possible it's my own fault. I can't seem to figure out what's causing it though. I'm losing about 5% every 15 minutes, been tracking it for about 2 hours while doing some texting and mostly keeping the display on (at 100% brightness). Also I've had my wireless on at all times. Maybe this is normal?

I'm not very good at this but can it also have something to do with my horrible signal strength in my apartment?

Battery info says:
Cell Standby (Battery used by cell radio) Time without signal 99%
Status says:
Signal Strength -110 to -120 dBm

It's said that 2.3.3 has issues with the wifi draining the battery..if you had it on all day I'm guessing that's why its draining so fast also your screen brightness may have a little as well to do with it...as for your signal update your prl by dialing *228 and follow the directions see if that helps :-)

2.3.3 WITH cm7 doesnt play well with wifi. that is what I have said. My friend is also a dev and has confirmed this. I used to have wifi on whilst with 2.2.1 and everything was dandy.

Thank you for confirming the wifi. The signal in my apartment seems to be shitty no matter what I do. Outside it's fine. I've updated the prl a couple of times since I got the phone and it's always been bad, even with other phones.

Every time i push the lock button on top the screen shuts off and will not come back on... i have to take the battery out and restart it

On first boot be sure to skip past the setup and go to settings > cmod settings > display, and disable the screen on and off animations.

is there a way to change the size of the picture you take in cm7 because when the picture is to big it wont send?

maybe this helps? go to your camera click on the settings at the top, when the little window pops up scroll inside the window and you can change what type of picture it takes there

I disabled the screen on off animations but when i push lock it goes off then i push to unlock and there is a 2 minute delay before the unlock screen comes up

if the cyanogenmod animations are off, then once you hit the power or menu button to unlock the screen,just swipe across the screen.as soon as you start swiping it will turn on.

Well, I have been following this for 2 weeks now and I must say redundantly, Well Done! I have been running this since Monday morning along with my custom recovery. It took a bit of ingenuity as when I followed instructions, the results were not very straight-forward. Whatever, that's technology.

I would have to say I wish the response time of the rotate screen was more responsive. My results vary between 5 seconds of constantly trying to signal the phone to rotate the screen by just flicking it forward, to maybe 1.5 seconds until it automatically taking care of business. Also, it seems to be much more responsive turning into landscape than turning to portrait. And this is when I have killed all apps running and am just replying to a text or grabbing an email.

None the less, it's the least of my worrys. Great ROM!

a rappard can i get a link for the vending.apk for cm7 beta cause i keep geting a parse error

if you send me an email to my gmail ill forward the apk to you..im at work so i cant send it from a pc..i have my phone on me though so once i get your gmail address ill send it to ya!:D

not the right vending.apk the system files in cm7 are rw-r--r--
the one you gave me is rwxr-x:(

Thats cuz you have to change permissions. Saving it to your computer changes the permissions, to the user who downloaded it. and you are probably on windows? if so then everything is pretty much executable.

reboot into recovery
mount points> mount /system

$ adb push Vending.apk /system/app/
$ adb shell
$ su
# chmod 644 /system/app/Vending.apk
# reboot
