What if on June 4th, the anniversary of the Evo 4G, instead of the phone being released on that day Sprint announced the release date of the 3D to be within the following 2 days (June 5th or 6th)?

It falls in the time frame of Radio Shack's ad.

It falls in the time frame of those accessories that have an available date on or before 6/7/11.

I think at this point there's a possibility of this scenario playing out.
 
Anything is possible; sounds unlikely that it would be announced on the 4th and then released on the 5th or 6th; but the first part seems as possible as any other date.

I think the release is still a minimum 2-3 weeks away. Some of you that have friends working at Sprint stores knows that for each phone that comes out an employee at that Corporate Store is named the "advocate" for that phone. They are given the phone about 2 weeks before the launch of the phone so they learn about the phone in order to answer any customers (or other employees for that matter) questions about the phone.

My friend has been named the advocate for the EVO3D and has not received the phone yet as of last night when i called him up to ask. This leads me to believe we are looking middle to late June, which also corresponds with the date customer service gave me of 6/18/11. I know there have been alot of dates thrown around by customer service, best buy employees, Santa Claus, the tooth fairy, etc,....chances are the 18th is incorrect also, but it can allow us to gauge that it will not be released before then. I hope I am wrong, but i don't think this will be releases within the first 2 weeks of June.
 
That URL on the Radioshack ad is still not active. Also, nothing on RS.com mentions anything about E3D.

I'll believe that when I fall off the edge of the earth! :p As log as it's out before my BD in the latter part of June, AND my Pre survives that long, I'm good. But it sure would be nice to know so I didn't go back and forth and check threads every few minutes for one teensy, tiny, glimmer of hope of a release date... :D

I have to agree wit this.

If Radio Shack is advertising Pre-Order in there June 5-11th flyer then we are looking more and more at a middle to end of June release.

If it was coming out beginning of June that flyer would say for sale and not pre-order.


Just my opinion.

What's the address of the Sprint store? And what's the name of the owner that you know?

Meanwhile, my Sprint store is still clueless. Just got back from there. Dropped by to see if anyone had any new info. Nope. Some time in June is what they said. And they tried to sell me the $50 gift card to put my name on the list. I told them that once the launch date is announced, then I'd consider that :)

Certainly hope that's true, but I'm skeptical til there's a formal announcement. That said, a Thanks simply because of the awesome handle. :D
 
I think I have it figured out. Someone in Sprint played a huge spoof on a co-worker and reversed the release date announcement date and the release date. So the phone will release June 4th and will be announced to release on the 4th two weeks later on the 18th.

Thanks, even though you beat me to the punch! I KNEW I had seen that article a while back, when digging for more info. That sound you just heard was the collective sighs of relief by most folllowing the thread! :D
