Release date: 6/24 nationwide; 6/21 for SP members.

Goes to show you I'm getting lazy reading. I saw that one and first thought, this is only about reduced pricing.

For those of you that are lazy to read or click the link:

Hey, I read most of that one, I just didn't notice it at the bottom. Some days are better than others.

Any blog that posts ripped-off stories without source links I avoid as bogus, but that's just me - and AndroidSPIN is clearly one of those.

This was posted on 3/24/11 based hands on time at CTIA, so I don't know how much stock I would put into anything written there.

Oh man, someone must have highjacked my account and posted that to make it look like I never look at sources. :o:rolleyes:

Erm...so yeah, sorry about that, my bad. Was in a hurry and didn't bother to look at the date.

Soooo my sprint store still sucks....
went in yesterday after the big announcement - Decided - OK time to pre order.

They are STILL no taking preorders.....He also said he doesn't expect until July.... I might kill myself.....

Maybe Mainland gets it sooner! Damn Island Time...

I just saw on Sprint's twitter that an announcement will soon come about the release date. I think thats the first time I've seen them respond to someone about it.

Lets hope really soon.

Hey guys this is my first post but I just wanted to give some info that I recently found. Today, while at my local Best Buy Mobile store I saw for the first time that the Evo 4G had been reduced to $149.99. They also had a sign for "Future New Phone" with an empty spot where a new Sprint phone should be going which was similar to what they had before the Samsung Charge and Thunderbolt were recently released, but I just wanted to let everyone know in case maybe that's a sign of good things to come.

Welcome to the forums!

Thanks for the heads up. So... with the tweet... and now the placeholder and Evo price reduction, let's see if anything happens next couple days.

BTW, I was at my Sprint store today; Evo was still $199 there.

Thanks so much! Hopefully so. I doubt it's far off. It seems like a lot of things are lining up for a launch.

WOW Actual acknowledgment from Sprint. To me this is a big step forward.

I bet that on June 4th the one year anniversary they will announce the release date which should be around the Middle of June.

Evo is now $129 at Amazon Wireless... Cheapest I've seen it, I think they're trying to dump inventory - thinking Evo3D is verrrry close.

Probably not the best information.....but i was at my sprint store today and i asked the guy when the Evo 3D would be released and he said some time next month. I replied like mid-June? He said: Yeah.

Awesome. I was just at Best Buy yesterday and they had sales on the Shift, Evo, and Epic, but no open space or anything. Guy told me unequivocally June 4th, to which I just mentally rolled my eyes and said "Ok." Would be awesome if he was anywhere close to right.

For a while EVO was $99. And that was back at the beginning of 2011.

Still hoping for a mid-July release here!

lots of people are starting to report 6/4 as the big day.
i know this always happens but hopefully this time they are right :)

mikee4fun is saying he actually was able to order two for monday delivery 6/6 over on xda (using corporate account). no proof but he has been around xda and ppc geeks for a looooong time.

I saw that, but he won't post any proof. Would be nice if he posted the email with the incriminating information blacked out, although, still wouldn't prove anything. I guess it's about as credible as any other rumor out there though, with the added bonus of only having (at maximum) slightly over a week to see if it's disproved.

Two things:

There is usually a big sale on Memorial Day weekend. I got my very first cell phone on a Memorial Day because they had a special sale for active duty members and anyone who had lost a immediate family member from service.

I remember it vividly, because I was 1) active duty at the time and 2) that's what Memorial day is about. Giving thanks and remembrance to those who served and paid the ultimate price. Not to celebrate that you get a paid holiday.

The second reason is that Amazon is probably trying to beat Sprint to the punch with clearing out inventory and is using the Memorial day weekend as a double reason to do a massive sale.

With lack of test devices at stores, I doubt it will release this weekend, but an announcement seems to certainly be in the works (see my previous post about the pre-race show tomorrow).

But thanks for the reminder about Memoral Day, and thanks to all who have served! :)

I think we have a miscommunication. I didn't intend to mean the E3D would be released this weekend. I forgot to quote. I was replying to you2 about the Memorial day sell off of older generation devices. Memorial day weekend usually has sales of stuff, anyways, and Amazon may be trying to clear inventory before the Sprint can.

I hope it releases newxt week, which would make sense considering the evo was released the first week of June last year, but if not I am betting on June 10th

I will honestly be very shocked if it comes out more than a week or so after the sensation. However, with the lack of news or leaks, it does seem more and more likely that it is the case. Sounds like a great way to lose a ton of potential customers.

There has to be many other people like me with decrepit old crap-phones, anxious to get something great but not willing to wait for the SGS2 to slowly meander its way over here (another insane corporate mistake for another thread, I suppose). But when you consider just how close the sensation is to the 3D, youd have to assume that a ton of people will just opt for the one that comes out first. Anyone in the market for a new phone, who likes htc isnt going to wait another month for the same thing only with a 3D camera! right?

(I mean there are differences, and personally I will wait for a head to head comparison before picking between the two)

In conclusion:
Cmon Sprint/HTC throw us a bone, I aint pre-ordering nothin without a release date! And if you let apple make their next iphone announcement before you release this, you are reeeeeeaaaaaal dumb.
