Not going to lie..camera is so-so.

Just want to add my findings to the discussion:

I think the Inspire has more detail due to the higher MP count, but otherwise they're pretty equal. The problem with the Inspire is that in low light, the flash washes everything out in orange/yellow.
 
I take lots of pics for stuff I put on eBay. While I used to think the iPhone 4 camera was great, the inspire seemed to take much better pics. I don't use a flash with either, and use as much indirect lighting as possible. The iPhone so over saturated the colors that it resulted in cartoonish looking images while the Inspire pics were very natural and clear. I had a colored shade on my indirect lighting, which isn't optimal but it proved no problem for the Inspire sensor to produce natural tones. There was no correcting the grossly over saturated iPhone pics.
 
My inspire blew my iPhone away in quality but I recently switched over the CM7 and I guess the Desire camera as well and it's terrible.
