3dEvo: Pre-release miscellany

MTV movie awards is 5 June and Sprint is a sponsor. I have a feeling you will see ads on MTV and the Bravo channel for the EVO 3D around that period. Sprint has lots of commercials on the Bravo channel as well.

During the summer, teens watch a lot of MTV.

That is cool. I actually look forward to see what Apple does with either the iP5 or iP4S. Mostly because Apple does try to be innovative, in their fascist way, and it usually pushes Android handset makers and Google to be more innovative, in kind.

I just hope it isn't another iP4 with dual-core and little tweaks here and there. That'd be boring and I would see the E3D and SGS2 just trouncing it. Although, that is personal opinion because Apple likes their small screens and I think a screen needs to be bigger to truly reflect how good a phone is. It'd be like going back to the 800x600 resolution days on a PC.

I wouldn't get your hopes up. Miss Sprint probably just wants you to watch her to raise her/Sprint's ratings. Don't they all say "Make sure to watch <blah blah>..."? I think we're just over analyzing it because we want some info :P

Who cares about NASCAR? I don't see them releasing the date during NASCAR because its not the most readily watched sport in the US. I see the NEXUS advertised on BRAVO and MTV all day long. Those avenues would be better for advertising because those channels target a wider audience than [mod censored] NASCAR.

But Sprint and NASCAR are partners, so it sure wouldn't hurt to plug the phone via that channel.

Honestly you should check out the stats, NASCAR is huge. Major races like the Daytona 500 and tomorrows Coke 600 are among the most watched tv programs of the year, sports or not.

I'm not a soccer fan and neither is the vast majority of Americans but I give it credit as the most popular sport in the world. So just because you aren't a NASCAR fan, that doesn't mean that there aren't millions of people who will be watching.

Wouldn't it be smart to make an announcement in front of millions of people vs the relatively small number of people who would be in attendance at the normal press events?

Now, I don't think the announcement will come tomorrow, but I think it would be great advertising to a segment of America that is extremely loyal to products that sponsor their sport.

Honestly, it might be a while. Just ordered a large amount of radio parts out of tawian, japan, and korea. All of them came back as delayed or backordered, the earthquake really screwed up supplies.

NASCAR isn't even in the top 10 for most watched sporting events. The Daytona 500 ranks 15, and I highly doubt their audience is into smartphones....LOL

Guys... is this really what these forums are supposed to be about? Lets just get back to being tech nerds and being impatient and endlessly analzing things. :D

Will Gingerbread allow me to doubletap while the browser page is loading and it won't scroll back up to the top of the page? So annoying to have the browser move you to the top of the page if you doubletap or pinch and the page isn't loaded yet.

Didn't they annouce release date the evo 4g at a screening of PoP? I could be wrong though. I would think nascar is a bigger group than that movie.
Technically, no. They held a private announcement party and treated the attendees to a private screening of PoP (which was not even in theaters yet) at the event.

So to say they announced it at a PoP screening isn't as correct as saying they showed PoP at the announcement event.

Yea, thanks couldnt remember just recalled it was tied in together. Either way I wouldnt be shocked if sprint combined it with nascar since they are huge sponsors but would think they would have sent emails, etc on "make sure you tune in sunday" if they were going to announce.
