Thats what I was thinking as well. I mean the 3d pic is just 2 2d pics that are combined basically so whats the point of having to convert a 3d pic when you can just use one of the 2d pics that was used in the first place to create the 3d pic.
 
It may be a bit early to ask this, considering that no one here has the Evo 3D yet, but its worth shot:

Does anyone know if the LED Indicator light will flash WHILE the phone is charging, as opposed to the light NOT flashing (while charging) on the current Evo 4G.

This is something that bothers me incredibly on the Evo 4G.

I doubt we will be able to find that out until we get some more people with the phones in their hands. If it doesn't, maybe we will get lucky and there will be a second LED that the devs can hook us up with notifications on again.

This blows! I pre-ordered mine at my local Radio Shack and I'm going to Savannah for 3 weeks, leaving on June 23rd.

Now, what do I do?


  • Attempt to get my pre-order transferred to a store down there? Is that even possible?
  • Hope to god they have extra units on hand? Do they usually have extras when pre-orders are involved?

I would definitely call the RadioShack that you pre-ordered from and ask to speak to the manager. He/she might be able to help with this issue and expedite whatever you guys come up with as a solution plus he might be able to just transfer your pre-order for you. I'm sure just a little bit of effort will pay off for you. Sorry to hear about your circumstances tho.

This is definitely how to go about it, the same thing happened to my brother in-law with the 4g last year and the manager of the store he went to called a store in AZ for him and got it all taken care of.

A while back, there was a big discussion around here (speculation of specs thread) about NFC. It was rumored that Evo3D might be NFC capable. Not sure what the status of that rumor is. Could be busted I think. But I posted a lot of info around NFC anyway. If Evo3D doesn't support it, I'm deleting that wiki page. Or someone else can :)

It was "rumored" but it never had any legs to stand on as far as I was concerned. There are still those out there are probably hoping for NFC or some sort of other super secret hardware surprise that is not going to happen for this phone. Seems to be outlandish wishful thinking. I'm with you, pretty sure it looks busted.

I don't know that you should delete it, maybe it can just be re-classified or something. Someone bandied about the idea of adding NFC to any phone by way of an accessory chip ie. microSD, sim card, etc.? Who knows, maybe there will be a way to add it to the Evo 3D at some point later down the road.
 
There is the NFC SD card that is being worked on and Google also mentioned a sticker that can be placed on the phone. The difference being an added layer of security for a device that has the chip built in. Not sure how that would work with the SD card. The sticker wouldn't have the security option as I believe it's primarily software based in a built in device, you have to grant it permission to activate it. Might be possible to do the same with the SD card type, but not the sticker type.
 
If it had NFC, I suspect it would be talked about by the people demoing it. Like that one video of the lady who was talking about all the things that Sense 3.0 does. NFC isn't some techy spec sheet glitter, like dual core, internal memory, RAM and whatnot. That's a functionality that the estimated 90% of buyers who don't care to tweak their phones or push them to the limit would care about.
 
My store just told me there EVO'S have GB now. But she said just in case the 3D doesn't get released on the 24th and gets held back again and I only have 30 days she doesn't advise me to use my upgrade and get an EVO. I don't know what to do.

But it makes sense for me to get another EVO using my upgrade because I have a good Sedio case and all the accessories. And I don't mind paying a 35 dollar restocking fee but I need to know that I can return it and swap it out for the 3D which Sprint said I could do when I called the 1888 number. But if the 3D doesn't come out on the 24th. I know the Thunderbolt got pushed back several times. So I'm a little scared and don't know what to do. I asked my store if they still had my EVO and she said if I sold it back on Sunday it went back to the store on Monday.

That's what I think I'll do. The crew there is great and really helpful. Took me an hour to get the pre-order done because the instructions were incorrect, so I hung around and talked to them while they waited on hold with support.
 
I kinda regret pre-ordering from BB. All the leaks from RS makes me want to help them stay in business so they can keep leaking stuff.
 
I know I wish they would make if official already. Someone said there officially announcing it on Monday. Don't know if that's true or not. But I don't want to wait till the 24th. I was hoping Sprint would sell there's on the 19th for Fathers Day!

That would be awesome if Sprint stores had some lead time on this. I have a trip on the 22nd where I would love to be able to sit in the airport and play around with my new toy :D

Im just amped that the official release is on the verge of being released! I asked Sprint for a release date for the release date... I wonder if they think Im crazy :)

Wow... that stinks. I recorded my son during several of his field day events and played them back for friends and family (probably more than they'd like ;)) and they played perfectly.

I know, but there's not a heck of a lot at BB that I would actually want to buy. I rent console games, because most are not worth buying anymore. I rent movies from Netflix, so no need for movies. I get PC games from Steam or other direct download sites (don't need a DVD in the drive to play). Plus there's getting out of one line to get into another line further back. Maybe I'll get the accessories from RS to help out :P

paper, ink cartridges, sylus, extra cables/cords. always something you can use from BB...

I was told when I got my BB pre-order that the gift card was fully refundable. You might want to check into it.

Get the kickstand case and have them install a screen protector.
