Root Need advice for good ROM with Sense widgets...

I have been looking for a ROM (preferably a sense or GB rom) WITH SENSE WIDGETS (like friend stream and calandar)..i dont really like the dock bar that sense has,so i use ADW EX,but when i use my own home launcher,i cant use the sense widgets..and i dont want to buy LAUNCHER PRO PLUS cuz all i want is the friendstream widget (beacause you can theme them with cm7,but thats the only thing i like about LPP)..
Basically im looking for a ROM that i can use ADW with and still have the SENSE widgets.Is there ANY way to do this..ive searched for widgets that are somewhat like the sense ones but no luck :( any help is appreciated!

ALSO,ROM suggestions must be AOSP or SENSE OTA build.its for a EVO flashed to metro and the data/mms only works for those 2 types of ROMS.
 
it is basically a sense rom with the sense launcher removed. it uses a sense kernel and you can flash any of the netarchy toastmaod sense kernels. but it has a lot of aosp elements. and you can pick which launcher you want.

So is it considered aosp or sense? Thanks for the reply also.
 
it is a sense rom. try it out just make a nandroid. i really like it. my phone just does not like netarchy toastmod kernels like it does with tiamat kernels. one of the reasons that i'm not currently on it right now. i'm also looking into the virus's kingdom rom. at the moment i'm doing research on partitioning my card cause this thing is a beast in size.

ill look into it when i get home from work..i was also wondering,can a ROM change my phones programming?? somehow my phone unprogramed itself..i lost all data!! so i had to use QPST to reprogram my data/mms.. i even restored a good backup i had and it still didnt fix it.(i know its a little off topic,but i'd rather not have to spend another hour reprogramming my phone) i'd love sense roms more if you could theme them like CM7..thanks again for your help/quick responses! :D
 
it could. i know with the gps fix for cm7 becomes unfixed once i go back to a sense rom then flash back to an aosp rom. just keep that in mind when flashing that you may have to re-fix things. and the gps fix for me does not necessarily work on my nandroids. sometimes it does sometimes it does not. i have been playing around with sense again since the latest ota we just had.
 
if you want a solid rom that is 3.70 based then check out mikfroyo 4.62 or kings unleashed r5. not sure if the new mikg will work for you but it is a great rom with the latest ota plus sense 3.0.

What is new in sense 3.0?is it just more responsive?
 
i should say that mikg has some sense 3.0 built in. the way the homescreen scrolls around is very similar to launcher pro. it has the new weather animation and clock. the lockscreen is sense 3.0. there is a bunch of little differences but those are the ones that i noticed. they say that sense 3.0 would never come to the evo. phones with dual core will eventually get sense 3.0. but there are currently two roms that have it cooked in. virus's and bos's kingdom rom port. i must say virus's is a great rom except for the fact that it is really big in size. i'm looking in darktremor a2sd option which partitions the card and can move dalvik cache to the sd card.

now when you say 3.70 based,what do you mean by that? theres still alot of lingo that i dont know yet..lol sorry for all the q's..lol and also here is a link to the 2 .zip files i use to get my data and mms working.metro data mms .zip. can you tell me by what you see there,if this data/mms fix should work on the Mikg and/or Kings Unleashed?

yeah all these numbers are crazy. ok so first off 3.70 is the ota software version of froyo 2.2. if you were to go to phone settings/about phone/software. your software version should be listed. the latest software version which is the current gingerbread ota we just had is 4.22.651.2 which is gingerbread 2.3.3. confusing i know.

well looking at, since it is flashable my guess is that everytime you wipe system you are erasing the fix. unfortunately if you flash a rom, system should definitely be wiped. so yeah i do not think this will carry from rom to rom.

So does he just need to flash those two zip files after flashing the rom then? I never really looked into someone using a different carrier, not the details at least.
 
there is not many carriers as far as flashing goes. but that is what it looks like. it is actually just for data and texting. and it is one .zip for sense 2.2 and one for aosp. so my guess is that the .zips will have to be flashed along with the rom.

Yes.exactly. Flash ROM procedure, then mms/data fix. Talk/text never gets messed up. Just data and mms. It just throws me off about the sense ROM fix how it says for ota based roms.

so not sure from what i read through the thread the latest ota will not work with this. i think from i understand is that it works with froyo 2.2 sense roms. i could be wrong though...
 
well i looked up the valpeak rc2 rom you were talking about...i noticed that it says that the friendstream widget was left in but made uninstallable..does that mean that its pretty much not available in the rom..or its there but doesnt work?

i do not recall seeing that, but i did not really use it. I checked the change log and i did not see anything that mentioned it. so sorry not really sure.
