Root cm6 and cm7 Theme compatability on Ascend

After some googling, I have been able to apply a metamorph cyan theme to my phone and I really like it. I am now looking for a metamorph theme that only themes the lock screen. I have found plenty online, but I have read different things regarding the compatability of these themes. Some say that all MDPI themes should work for all MDPI devices. Others say that CM7 specific themes only work for CM7 and not CM6, despite it being an MDPI theme.

I am currently running CM6, and am wondering what I should be looking for in regards to themes. Do themes need to specifically be made for CM6 on the ascend only, CM6 in general, or for MDPI devices in general?

I would like to know what I can and cannot metamorph so my phone looks sweet, and doesnt crash.
 
themes intended for CM6 wont work for Cm7 as they use different theme engines. CM7 uses the T-mobile theme engine. You can find tons of themes and morphs for it on XDA ;)

And I do believe I read CM7 (lastest build) can even do hdpi themes now too.
 
TY for the response Playful God. I have been thinking of switching over to CM7 just for the Theme chooser. What are the advantages to CM7 over CM6? The themes are amazing, but if there are no real major benefits to having CM7 Ill stick with CM6 since its stable. I have seen plenty of themes in the market for CM7, and none for CM6, which im assuming is because of the theme choosing ability.

Do you know of any CM6 theme galleries? Google has not been kind to me, and has only provided a few links.

I personally only know of one that was ported to CM6, Ascend_Cyan2.zip

I personally love CM7, to me its faster and smoother than CM6. It has more features than come with 2.3.4 than 2.2.2 has, but its more of a personal preference. CM7 is completely stable, depending on your Ascend. Chances are if you got CM6 to install CM7 will install just as well.

Hey Nuttmeg Just a Real Quick Question For ur Ascend what do u have the clocked settings at?

I have the Theme on my ascend and it looks great it just restarted for no reson just wanting to ask someone who knows more then me should my phone settings be set a Certain Way?

no im still clock @ 710 mhz and SMARTASS for the governor, but after you applied the theme the phone has to be restarted so all the changes to take place.

Quick question, I installed it, but just the theme, no widgets or anything else, and right now my screen looks like the one in XDA, but the botton 3 icons are a regular green phone, 3 blocks for menu and a green earth as browser, is yours different?

Do you mean step 5.4 (jjhiza's widgets/icons)? I only did steps 1 thru 4 (even though there is no step 3 :P

other thing is troubling me is that sometimes It doesn't show the quick bar for WI-FI, Bluetooth, etc when i pull down the top of the screen (sorry, don't know the name, is the one that appears in the top of the pic below, it only shows a blank space

there are 3 versions on the market, but once you applied this theme you have to reboot the phone so settings can take affect.
 
Try synergy pretty cool make u get a wallpaper that have a silver iron look to it to match the theme
