I hate clutter on home screens, and simple switch widgets = clutter. Maybe its just my OCD acting up but hiding it in the notification bar is perfect. I've been using the application 'Bar Control', but this will effectively replace it.

This is the pull down notification bar ... i liked it better with quick power control widgets on the top, HTC should of thought about implementing that... and maybe have the quick setting tab be favorite apps

actually I've never turned off my 3G while on WiFi I am assuming as long as its not relaying data in idle state? its not taking up any juice, but out of curiosity I am giving it a try will even run system panel for a day with/out 3 g radio while on WiFi

My personal thought:
As someone that accepts turning 4G on and off when needed and who also turns off the Wifi/Bluetooth when I know I'm going to be out in the city for a while... Personally, I think turning off the 3G/Data crosses the line of an unacceptable usage tradeoff. When you don't have 3G on, you lose all benefits of a push e-mail platform and any messaging services that use data -- gchat, beluga, whatsapp, etc., which to me is the point of having a modern smartphone -- continuous contact connectivity.
Thankfully, the Evo 4G's battery is sufficient in this regard, and I expect the Evo 3D to act similarly with identical use patterns.

My email on my government computer is encrypted. You need a CAC card to access my email chief from home through a certain website. Why do I need to look at the weather when the app is useless to me. I only read METAR/TAF weather of which I can see on my computer at work. When I'm not at work i can pull it up on my EVO. But I highly doubt anyone here can read a METAR or TAF. Some people have jobs where they work in SCIFs and your phone doesn't go into the SCIF.
If I need to call someone in Korea, I can pick up a phone and call at work VIA DSN. We have chat on our computers at work. I don't work for the private sector, my job has mad perks of which I don't need to drain my phone inside a fortified building where its hard to get any signal.
I think its great when the weather app says its 101 degrees outside and my truck tells me its 106 degrees. The weather equipment at the airport agrees with my truck. Knowing the proper heat conditions is important on government installations. EVO can't do that for me.

I was in the military and we could not have personal electronics in certain areas but...no one cares about that in a thread like this.
Yeah, I can access my personal email account. I also have a government email account. Can't do government work on AOL LOL.
What is AOL? Does the 3D come with it?

It just baffles me seeing the Sensation receive these rave reviews when the EVO 3D is essentially the same device. (more RAM! it even narrowly beats the Sensation in most benchmark tests.)
These reviewers, in my opinion, are paying too much attention to the 3D aspect of the phone. (narrow viewing angles, causes headeaches, blah)
I like to think of the phone as the EVO 2 (w/ 3D)
And come the 24th, the device will be mine.

please do what you desire. This phone is everything what I wanted other than 3d, which I didn't really care about from day one. So if you were expecting too much then it is your own fault. I am sure any sane person should have known that the very first phone with 3d in the world is not going to be the best, I knew it from beginning they were jumping the gun on this. They should have advertised the phone with evo 2 and 3d should not have been the marketing feature of the phone, even though it is I admit it is a gimmick and it will be for another few years until the tech is more refined.
LG 3d phone coming out is going to be the same damn thing, gimmick. All the first gen 3d phones will suffer from bad 3d.
I have the nexus right now and the battery on this thing lasts longer then my nexus. on top of that nexus takes 5 hours to fully charge, I hate that. It is on its way back just because of that and amzon already approved my exchange and I have had the evo 3d on pre-order since the 8th. I actually cant wait to get it.

The best review is the one you as an individual do for yourself. Everyone will have a different take of any product, whether it is a car,tv or a phone. In the end ,it comes down to the person who is purchasing the product for his or her wants and needs.Think for yourself and don't let others think for you.
seems like pretty much the bottom line is, its a double powered evo with a high res screen. Oh and they threw in a 3d camera to play with which btw you can turn off. Im in. I think whats far more interesting then the reviews is why the phone seems to preform better then the sensation. If you watch the videos the evo 3d is blazing fast it seems like. The Sensation seems to not be as buttery smooth with sense 3.0. Could the extra 256 of ram really make that big a difference ! ?
Not a bad review; battery life sucks; 3d feature sucks; phone is very responsive for media; wimax a bit weaker than other 4g phones; 3g and reception a bit stronger; he likes the phone if he ignores 3d; it comes with polaris which is very nice if you wnat to view .doc, .xls, .ppt files.

I'd say it's very important we bear something in mind: the benchmark for all Android phones is now very high.
The HTC Desire was the number one phone for many tech sites last year. It regularly scored 5/5, etc.
That was a year ago. Now we're seeing the Sensation typically pick up 4.5/5 or 9/10 etc, but you can be 100% sure it's a better phone overall than the Desire.
So even though the Sensation and the Evo 3D aren't always getting top scores they are still excellent handsets and are almost certainly "better" in various ways over the phone you currently have.
Reviewers have to be pickier than ever when comparing handsets, they can't all take the No1 spot, but that doesn't mean No.'s 2 - 10 are no good.
If we all went purely by specs and reviewer scores I dare say we'd all have the Galaxy S2, but personally I think it looks like an ugly slab next to the Sensation and I'd probably pick that up instead.
Same with the Evo 3D, the 3D can almost be ignored as it's clear that it works (to a point) but isn't in itself a reason to buy the phone. So ignore that and you have a handset that is on a par with the Sensation. For me that means that either of these handsets are an excellent upgrade option and I will try them both out before deciding.
We shouldn't get miffed with reviewers because they highlight flaws with handsets we've set our hearts on, no device is perfect.

I have to chime in fellas. 3D gives you headaches correct. Well, when I had to do NVG training in a Lockheed Martin flight simulator I got headaches but after a few simulator flights on NVGs my headaches went away. An instructor told me way before I had the training that some folks get headaches but its because their NVGs aren't sighted properly. Mine were sighted perfectly, its just my brain and eyes had to adjust to the NVGs.
My point is your eyes and brain has to adjust to the 3D through continuously looking at the 3D content daily for certain periods of time for about a week. The headaches will go away.
