try to sbf again

Your SBF file was probably corrupted somehow. Get a new copy and if you haven't done so already use the Linux cd method to SBF. It's allot easier than fighting with RSDlite.

dang, man... you've had to say that so many times, you should have that in your sig line with a link...lol I guess a lot of people don't use search, but it's ok, I guess.

I will try that when I get home. How do I know if my phone is beyond repair?

Are you on a Mac or PC?

Please list all currently installed software you're using to attempt flash and drivers if any.
Once you get a chance definitely REdownload the SBF file like others suggested.

i wasnt able to burn the cd but im about to sbf again. i redownloaded the file. this is what i have in the bootloader screen, its different than last night.

Bootloader
30.04
Err:A5,70,70,00,00

MEM_MAP Blank
Service Req'd
Battery OK
OK to Program
Connect USB
Data Cable

Fail fail fail dam it! OK, I'm going to use another computer tomorrow and do it from scratch with rsd until I can find somewhere to burn the CD.

And the screen is now back to

Bootloader
30.04

Code corrupt

Battery OK
OK to Program
Connect USB
Data Cable

...... someone wanna do it for me??? I will just keep failing. If I ever fix this I will never do anything of this sort again.

make sure you have the current moto drivers installed, what OS are you running? and what version of rsdlite are you also running, this can have an impact and can explain why you are running into an error

if your on windows vista/7 i recommend rsdlite 4.9 as it works well with mine
windows xp i recommend rsdlite 4.8 as i keep hearing it works better with windows xp than 4.9 does

make sure your moto drivers are current, i never run it in admin mode, but thats your choice

Ok guys I haven't ignored your advice or given up, I just haven't had time. I will double check everything and if that all fails I will try the linux method. Crossing my fingers here :P

Whatever you do you, it's best you do it quickly while your battery still has enough charge. Unless you have an external battery charger or another way to charge your battery, otherwise you are asking for a big headache ;)

I dont know what OS the computer i was using was running because my sister murdered it. . . but i got my moms laptop running vista. got rst lite 4.9. downloaded 2.2.1 sbf file, didnt work... after that i get a notification at the bottom sayin;g that the flash drivers were installed, idk what that was about or if it had to do with what i was doing..........

then i came across the GB sbf....downloaded it............ tried once more, just for kicks................

best image ever.

wont be doing that again lol, thanks for all the tips everyone, and ill be getting that linux cd ready, just in case :)

I had this happen the other night. I've sbf'd 100 times on the same computer, same configuration, etc, got to 99%, then had some message like downloading ram bootloader....something and then it failed. Bootloader screen said corrupt code. Then I went back to an older computer and tried to sbf with the rsdlite 4.8 I had on there, and all was well. I was really freaked though, because up to that point, I've never had problems sbf'ing.
