Help GPS issues

or as Rush Limbaugh is want to say [iss-ewes] :p Why the heck does it take so much longer for my Infuse 4G to get a GPS lock on my current location ? Is it an OS or hardware problem ? Related to Samsung phones ? My wife and I can be next to each other and her iPhone 4 will get her location an average of 12 seconds faster than I can. Yeah I know 12 seconds is picking a nit but I'm puzzled why the difference ? An app called GPS Aids seems to help a little but I shouldn't need a helper app for such a basic function.

Hi there. I have also noticed the GPS of my Infuse is constantly loosing satellite reception, even when the meteorological conditions/physical interferences don't seem to be a problem. I am a bit disappointed about that.

Some Samsung devices have definitely had GPS issues. No telling for your specific case though. Could just be aGPS issues. See if using GPS Status (or similar) to clear aGPS data helps. Sometimes my Droid will never get a GPS fix unless I clear its aGPS data.

GPS Status and similar apps should tell you what's going on with your GPS receiver. What's going on when it's trying to get a fix? Is it picking up any satellites? Is it just unable to get a fix?

Not all GPS receivers are equal in performance which is why it's difficult to tell why the OP's receiver is slower than his wife's. In my experience, however, the IP4's GPS receiver isn't all that great at getting signal.
