I ordered mine....The reps on the Sprint site had said something about the link not being posted till 8 AM, so I wasn't too worried about it, but fortunately I casually surfed by to see if there was any last minute news, and saw people posting about ordering! I wanted to go back to the website and see if I could find out anything about shipping (Yeah, I'm obsessive and it was absurd, I know....), but couldn't get back in just a few minutes later. My email from Sprint acknowledging my order was sent at 12:02 Central time, and I've tried several times since then without success, the site is always down. I think I was just in time!

I still have to work tomorrow (and must be rested for Wednesday when I hope my phone arrives!) so I'm off to bed. I'll check in the morning! :-)

My poor EVO 4G is sitting faithfully on the table by my recliner, it knows nothing of how it is about to fall from my affections and be replaced by a newer, "Faster" sweetie. Poor thing! Once my E3D arrives, I'll callously use the 4G as a model for setting up some of the stuff on the new phone, then I'll finally put on the Gingerbread update (the new improved version) on it, reinstall critical apps, and remove the battery, wrap up my original and extended batteries and backs with her, and put her in mothballs, only to be pulled out as a fallback if something terrible happens to my new love. :cool:
 
Not too concerned with having a kickstand. Might look into the Otterbox defender case though, which from the youtube review of it doubles as a kickstand.
 
I ordered mine at 1234am eastern time, and want to thank this community for that link because I could not find it on sprints site, to me it would have been more logical for sprint to send an email with the link for premier customers, I never got one, and I signed up to get updates, lol, never the less I would imagine whoever placed an order 12am ish, phone should ship out today. I called customer care yesterday and she told me most phones you order you will get overnight. Lets hope so!
 
I have to believe that Sprint's site went down due to the volume of people looking for the preorder link. Must be a lot of geeks out there. Probably the same 8000 who signed the bootloader petitions :)

Woke up this morning and completely forgot I had placed an order till I saw the email confirmation on my screen.
 
Whew! Order placed. Darn you, Internet, for taking out the Sprint store for so long! At least we know there's a lot of interest in the EVO 3D.

(And thanks, fellow forum-goers, for helping with links. I couldn't even get onto Sprint's site to find the link in their Premier forums, so having the direct link to the store was incredibly useful. And I didn't have a pre-order to fall back on.....)
 
Well, I just got off the phone with Sprint. (My order status said validations needed to be made.)

They just asked me to confirm my shipping address, what phone I ordered and quantity, social security #, DOB, and the reason why I picked this phone. Ha.

Pretty quick call and she said my order will be processed just fine.

:)

So to whoever else is seeing the 'validation needed' status on the Order Status page, don't fret. And make the damn call.

Sprint offers $150 dollars account credit online through their buyback program for those trying to offload your EVO 4G. The price is good for 45 days once you submit the request so you can lock in the price.

FYI, I am coming from an Epic and they're offering $106 for that phone via buyback.


On a related note, will they take a phone if the screen is cracked? I dropped my Epic and it cracked the screen a bit (kinda a spiderweb on the upper right corner). I don't want to send it in to the buyback program only to find out 2 months later that they rejected it or something.

Also, I'm happy to join the Evo community!

When I follow the email to Sprint.com/myorder it says "The order has been submitted and requires manual processing. If there is an issue processing the order we will contact you" and if I look in another place on my account and it says order cancelled. I'm a bit weirded out.

I hope your order wasn't canceled. If it was, I guess your boots were made for walking to the Sprint Store.
 
Oh, it works fine, just a few cracks running across the screen. The terms say "normal wear and tear" which is pretty subjective if you ask me.

My Sprint store told me they require functional phone, and then they check the screen and bezel for damage to come up with the assessment price.

So they will likely take your phone, but you will take a hit on how much they offer you for it.
 
Ordered at 8:45 with no issues at all.....after I used the link on this forum. Didn't see a link on Sprint's website. Whew! Started to worry with all the issues posted ealier. Now just waiting for MyfriendMatt to post some comments today. Thanks for the link Ioriyagami! and everyone else who posted it.

Normal wear and tear would be like discoloration on the body of the phone from rubbing against your hands, scratches and things like that. You're definitely taking a hit on the money you get from damage to your screen.
 
Man, for months I wanted to get this phone and pondered over when it would be available. About 3 weeks ago, I decided to upgrade my phone to the Nexus S 4g, which has been a great phone. This past week my mother asked for the Evo 3d for her birthday. It totally stunned me as she is not tech savvy at all. Anyways, I found myself getting all excited this morning when I ordered the phone only to be brought back to reality by the fact that I was ordering it for someone else. Truthfully, though, it will give me a good chance to observe it for myself. I have one week left which I can return my Nexus back in. Due to data issues and this funky thing that is happening, I am hoping that they will wave the return fee. Anyways, I am excited for my mom! Lol
 
I just purchased one online but now I am wondering what to do with the pre order I have at the store. I had to purchase a $50 gift card and now wondering what I can do with it. Can I return it? Or have it applied to my account?

I was on the fence, but figured if early buyers get shipped today, maybe they could post here. I'm sure there are many of us with pre order deals but we could be tempted to buy early if indeed we get them before Friday. So, if you get your shipping notice why not share the news here.
