"I HAVE MINE..." Thread...

I kept the OG EVO 4G. Getting rid of that phone would be like giving up my first born. That's if I had any kids. Only way someone is going to get the EVO 4G or 3VO from me is to run me over with a truck and shoot me at least several times before I let either phone go. Hell, if the Sprint Store was robbed today, the thief would have taken every phone from the store except mine. There would have been a rumble in the jungle in that Sprint Store.

you clearly need to some time away from the phones....

step back.. take a breath.. look around .. smell some flowers... drink a cup of coffee...

:p

IT'S HERE!!!

Sorry, I just can't remember a time when I've been with so much anticipation!

I literally got out of the shower and heard what I thought was a truck pulling up. As I was about to descend the stairs, I thought "No way". I turned the corner and there was the big brown truck!!! Temporary heightened sense perhaps :D

Now I can go to work without worrying. Its on the charger as we speak!

My old HTC Touch Pro can fit on it even with the Otterbox:p

I have to go to work soon but I will be activating it tonight. Catch you on the flip side!

Whoohooo!!!!! So excited for you. Glad you got it next day and now you can be worthless like the rest of us all weekend ;)

First initial thoughts of turning it on....damn thing is smooth. Set up process was faster than the EVO by far.

Not seeing any signal issues. 3G 4 bars....4G? 3 Full bars in my office, have never gotten that high with my Evo.

Very happy at the moment...try to do setups and all that and still Work....what a pain lol.

Well, I have been waiting and its finally here. I was the first one to get it at the Radio Shack I went to. Not getting much done at work today :).

Just got back from the Sprint store a few minutes ago and I'm stoked to have this thing. It was a little bitter sweet to say goodbye to my old Evo but as soon as she placed the new one in my hands I forgot all about it.. haha. This thing is fast, and I'm really diggin the look and feel of it. Can't wait to get off work to really start messing with it. :D

Your post didn't confuse me. Congrats!

Sorry, I was just astonished having remembered some of the (now that I have the phone) senseless comments I've seen on youtube and in the reviews. One guy even went as far as to say the 4G had a better screen....

I'm a little upset because I almost didn't go buy the phone because of those garbage reviews. It was the posts on this board that convinced me to give it a try and I'm glad they did.

The resolution on this phone is outstanding.

I still have my EVO though, I'm keeping it as well on another line.

I was the first one to buy mine from my Best Buy Mobile. It is amazing! I'll refrain from repeating the praise that everyone has gave it. "This thing is awesome" suffices!

I agree with the reviews; they're worthless to a point.

I almost had second thoughts about going from the evo 4g to 3d because of some of the reviews.

The 3D is DEFINATELY slimmer (by about an 1/8th of an inch) whcih can make all the difference, and it does, by the feel of it in your hands. Its taller, yes, but thats ok. The thickness is not noticeably different.

Man its fast, but thats just with the Sense running. I LOVE THE SENSE 3.0 LOCKSCREEN. Its exactly what ive been trying to get with widgetlocker, etc and other stuff.

I LOVE the tabbed notification drop down for quick access to apps and settings.

my .02 cents.

carry on. :)

garbage reviews indeed. we know which ones :)

Glad to see most everyone is very happy with the phone! Yes, there will be some kinks to work out for sure, but that's why we're on these forums, right? :)

And I know there are a lot of lurkers out there equally excited. Why not take this chance and shout out how awesome you think the phone is? :)

amazing phone... noticeably faster than the 4g and the screen res is remarkable. my only issue is I usually get 2-3 bars in the house and now with the 3d I'm pretty steady at 1 bar... I think I may call and try to get an airave

Just got back from getting our phones. He was downloading 4 Glenn Beck Radio episodes to his phone and he said on the OG EVO it would still be on the 1st one and the 3D it already had downloaded all 4. I have so much to do to configure this phone. And I'm not cluttering up all my home screens with multicons again.

if you still have your old phone, you can do a signal strength test like I did in this thread:

http://androidforums.com/htc-evo-3d/360306-signal-strength-analysis-evo-3d-evo-4g.html

That will be a true gauge of signal strength. Number of bars can be misleading because you don't really know how they mapped the absolute signal strength to the graphical bars. Every manufacturer does it differently (there's not even a standard for how many total bars there are), and between models, there could be changes.

So unless you actually notice more dropped calls or cutting off, I would think the performance of the new phone is comparable to the old. At least that's what my own tests showed.

If you still want the airave, make sure you get the newer one. Sprint still calls it an Airave, but I think the real name for it is 'Airvana.' It does 3G as well as voice, whereas the older one is voice only.

Quick question...since I am half working, half trying to get things set up on the phone.

Umm where is the 3D sample photos?

My SD card already had my user photos on it. And Im at a lost of finding anything actually 3D, aside from the movie or game(Like i said, Im at work lol).

Thanks Novox... I had a 4g for just over 3 weeks, then heard about this phone and decided to return my current 4g for the 3d. My previous phone is a BB Curve 8330 and I got almost no reception in the house with that thing so there is no point in comparing with that. It may have something to do with the weather here today since its really foggy and stormy.

Edit : Is there any downfall to getting an Airave? Every time I see someone discussing it on these forums it is as if there is but I never really see anything specific

Yeah, don't forget Steve Jobs and apple showing far more bars than they had reception. Bars don't mean everything.

Yeah I remember that LOL....Honestly the bars don't matter as long as I don't start missing calls due to lack of reception like I did with the 8330
