MR2 OTA is expected to released tonight (07/08/11)

Also, I can't find the Fast Boot option... anyone know where it went? Used to be under Settings > Applications
 
Thanks for confirming. I will stick with the current version until they push GB. I'm one of the fortunate few that does not have the reboot issues so I'll stick with the current version even tho the NYT bookmark is hard to pass up!

If you were previously getting 4G, but now only see 3G try this:

Guys, make sure under:
Settings,
Wireless & Networks,
mobile networks,
network mode.
LTE/CDMA enabled

It is a new setting.
 
Ok so its 11pm est and ive tried checking for update for a whole hour on 1x 3g and 4g with it saying no update available wtf? I have the leaked mr2 installed already is that why? Is there anyway it installed on its own when I wasnt looking? Cause skype video wouldnt install before id get the parsley errror then when i got t to install it would say it doesnt work on my phone but i just tried installing it now and it works and runs. And it wont let me do mobile hotspot i get the message. So is it possible it updated already when i wasnt looking? How do i know if its installed does it say in software info?

Does your my verizon app now work?
 
No sign here, I mean it says "checking", then nothing, doesn't say error, or no update found, etc. So, what am I missing?
 
According to one of the links posted which shows software version i dont have it and it still says no update found wtf??? Can anyone confirm if its cause i have leaked mr2 already installed? (Not rooted)

Yes. This will save you a ton of battery juice. This is what I do at home which is a 3G only area (till this fall sometime so they say :confused:), but when I'm at work I turn 4G on sometimes for downloading large files or app updates, or when I just want to cruise the interwebs fast.
 
ok quick question. i havent done any of the updates. i am rooted. if i do this update i will lose my root, i understand that. but will it completely reset phone to basic, meaning will i have to configure everything all over again? and all the bloatware i got rid of when i rooted, it will all come back? i really dont feel like having to reset all my email accts and personalized things i have done just for these basic changes. i have had zero issues with my phone since i got it so i really hate to do this update and screw with what has takn so long to achieve. ne help would be appreciated
 
For those of you that installed the leaked MR2 you will not be able to grab the OTA. Wait until someone posts the RUU and you'll have to flash it that way and wipe the phone clean again. That's why unless your rooted you shouldn't install leaks
 
So I tried to update and nothing happens screen just disappears. It's ok though because my TB does not reboot at all so a couple of days of free 4G Hot Spot is ok by me. Oh yea I am not rooted.
