Accessories What is the best droid case?

I got the body glove one cause i wanted to put my droid on my center consul and not have it slide around.. i also had to shave the sides down so the screen could slide easier.. im not a fan of it and its up for grabs if anyone wants it just pm me.. im going to go with the Seido.. wish i would have seen it before i got the body glove.

I have the body glove and I don't think it adds too much bulk to the phone. It is considerably larger but still not to large to put into your pocket. It's nice and secure. And I like the option of the beltclip and being able to remove it.

My sister has the clear plastic case and I like my body glove more.

I use the body glove which, albeit expensive, is really nice because its textured rubber on the outside which gives for perfect and comfy grip without accidentally hitting side buttons. It also has a removable hole in the back which can be swapped with a flat spot or a clip to turn it into a holster. the body glove will not fit into docks, and is very secure, tough to take off.

+1

Shell holster combo was Awesome buttt it separated the screen from the keyboard and loosened the crap outta my screen...droid is replaced due to it and now droid is fully naKed...considering invis shield or phantom skinZ...

I went into a store today to let a tech look at my phone because the screen wiggles when you type on the screen in certain places(bottom right hand corner if the phone is turned sideways). After checking mine against a couple of others including his it was determined that this was normal. Anyway the tech had the shell/holster combo on his phone. I had the BG but took it back because the front piece was just flimsy. After looking at his case I picked one up because it looked and felt pretty sturdy and fit the phone much better than the BG did.
I am curious as to how this case affected your screen in the manner that you mention. I can't see a way that it would from looking at the one on my phone. I don't doubt you, I just wanted you to clarify so I can take this back if I need to.

I got the Body Glove about a week after getting my phone, the day the droids were released.

I think the case is excellent - but I don't use the slide-out keyboard, and I don't have a dock for it. The case has great texture, and is just the thickness I'd like for the phone. I don't use the belt clip - I tend to keep the phone in my pocket, and have had no problems whatsoever.

I want to get the shell case again. I got it when I bought the phone, but the hooks on the front cover snapped after I tried to take it off too many times (maybe I took it off the wrong way?)

Innocase sounds low profile, but the reason I want a case is to protect my phone. Has anyone DROPPED their phone with the Innocase on it?

Don't get the body glove case. it is huge, rubbery so impossible to get out of a pocket. A huge space not protected on the side under the volume control buttons. and worst of all the whole left side of the case that attaches to the screen has no clip so it is just a long flimsy piece of plastic going from the top to bottom of the phone.

Dont get it. Dont get it. Dont get it

I wish there were a few better quality cases made like this one; Motorola Droid Anodized Aluminum Case - Black

The case clamps over the entire phone, keeping the keyboard from opening up. I never use the physical KB, so a case like this would be perfect.. really wish otterbox would make one like it.. I'm sure plenty would be willing to give up the slider for the protection it offers.

I have been looking for a case myself but really have found anything i like yet. I guess I am mainly looking for something to protec the phoneand screen. i was looking at the invisibleSHIELD Full Body. has anyone try this covers and do the work like that say.
is android central.com a good place to buy from.

I just ordered the Seidio because that seems to be the consensus on the best case. I was unable to ascertain if it has any form of protection for the screen. Does it have screen protection built in, or do I need to purchase that seperately?

You need to order a screen protector seperately. I love the Seidio case (and I own a few of the others as well). It's the best I've used by far.

IMO the Droid doesn't even need a screen protector. It has gorilla glass on it, which is the same glass my mp3 player has (Cowon S9). I've had my S9 for over a year and it is completely scratchless. I've even tried to scratch the screen with keys to show how the tough the glass is to people at school. They are amazed and I even give them a chance to scratch it themselves.... they fail. Gorilla Glass ftw

I thought the same until a mysterious scratch showed up on my first droid. I had BB install a full Zagg protector on my current and couldn't be happier.

What do you think of this case?
silicone-motorola-droid-case-485.jpg

I looks like its part of the Droid. Its a silicon rubbery type case. I have had similar cases form my Zune players.I found it off of Amazon. Looks nice...clean and simply. I don't care If I can't access the physical keyboard, I never use it.

do a search for: Amzer Silicone Skin Jelly Casefor Motorola Droid A855
on Amazon.

EDIT: Found the compnay website, Amzer seems to have some nice stuff for the Droid, take a look here: Motorola Droid A855 Accessories
I can't find this case on their site? I really like this 0ne as I don't use the keyboard either. Thanx.

It's here:

And it doesn't limit you from using the keyboard. It looks like another snap-on case. Or worse, one that is just supposed to fit snugly without snapping on. I tried one like that from handheld items and it was, in a word, awful.

I know we have a hardware keyboard and should be able to use, but i wish someone would just make one of those thin, rubber skin-type sleeves to put around the device and to heck with using the hardware keyboard. I would buy it.

Got the Body Glove face piece on a Snap On Verizon Droid back case with the Verizon 3 pack droid screen cover. This seems to be the best fit. I got the Body Glove for free which was a cool outcome from an unfortunate circumstance. The front & back piece of the body glove rub together which causes tension between sliding up and down the screen which will eventually damage the sensor on it. I got the 2nd cover from Verizon and it does the same so i combined the Verizon Back Piece and the Body Glove Front Piece and they don't rub at all. It slides open and closed with almost no resistance.:D
