VillainROM 2.0 released (2.3.4)

Hmm... No laggy browser fix yet..... Kinda wished I hadn't flashed...

Cba to go back though...

Don't flash until fixed.
 
Yes this one uses android version 2.3.4 not 2.3.3. Supposed to be better battery life. Also you get video chat on google talk. Few other little things to.

This is the leaked 2.3.4 version or is the official update live anywhere and coded in the VillainRom 2.0 ? I'm asking because I read somewhere that the leaked version is not final and therefore buggy... I'm currently on Cognition 1.08 so as far as I know Cognition 1.11 is out already, but I'm not sure if I should wait or flash either VR 2.0 or Cog 1.11

Anyone having good/bad feedback after flash?

No official release yet so VR 2.0 is based on the leak.

I've seen a few similar reports but the VR release has been rock-solid here.... apart from user-induced "issues". :o

All good here. It's not been an ideal day for testing as I've had to reflash twice thanks to my own stupidity, plus Orange appear to be doing work on the local network after the weekend thunderstorms so I've been flip-flopping between 2G and 3G all day. All told though the battery usage/Android OS problems appear to be tamed and the figures are much more in line with what I see on other handsets.
 
I have noticed occasional stutter/lag in YouTube videos and games.

Apart from that and the lack of good Villein Tweaks all is well.
 
Forgive my lack of knowledge. Im a noobish android holder.. I rooted my phone with the KE2 from Chainfire which is pretty much stock but with root and super user access. Pretty new to this so wondering if i should tinker with custom roms. I like the idea of extended battery life though. Is it worth it yet or shall i hang fire.. My phone runs sweeeeeeeeet right now.
 
For me it was worth it, my phone came with KE1 and I noticed improved speed and battery life with Villain rom. Everything looks like it did in samsung firmware as well. If you do not want a custom rom you could always go for the latest samsung firmware, even then you should see improvements.
