Help My EVO is Falling Apart!

Help! The perks of having this phone are quickly becoming non-applicable! First off, my compass stopped being accurate months ago. Tried calibrating many times and it's still completely off and jumpy.

Then the Gingerbread update happened and I can't use Voice Search or Voice-to-Text while driving, which is the only time I NEEDED it.

Now my speaker is busted and distorted, making music and (more importantly) speaker phone calls unintelligible.

I've had my EVO for a year now, and I've really liked it, but I'd say this is half the functionality of having a smart phone, just GONE!

Should I just cut my losses and get a new phone, or are there fixes/repairs I can take advantage of?

well my suggestion would be to take it in and see if it is fixable. maybe if you complain hard enough they will waive the wait on your upgrade and give it to you early. i have had very little issues with my phone. i will probably wait until i'm eligible for an upgrade early next year. but they did try and offer me an upgrade now even though i'm not due til next year. so maybe you can try out the evo 3d. i played with it for awhile at the store and it looked and felt amazing. sense 3.0 on that phone is amazing.

Well, the compass isn't your phone, everybody's compasses went wonky after the last update, and the speaker is a pretty easy fix, just do a forum search on it.

i do not know. they just looked at info on their computer and offered me it. they looked at me funny when i turned down that offer. lol

I bet they did. Lol. I can't upgrade till November, by then it looks like the evo3d will be unlocked. Hopefully the over heating issues will be fixed as well. One can dream.
