Root Custom MTD

Nope. Hadron uploaded them. Theres no md5. Doesnt matter anyway. Flash goes wrong, flash something else. I only care about md5 for radios.

Rasta as you know i have AmonRa recovery so is it safe to flash hboot the alpharev way?

1) Nandroid backup in recovery.
2) Verify the MD5SUM of the file you downloaded against the one in the table.
3) Flash HBOOT with your phone in fastboot mode (Back+POWER) -> 'fastboot flash hboot bravo_alphaspl.img' (change into the correct filename for the HBOOT you downloaded)
4) 'fastboot reboot-bootloader'
5) 'fastboot erase cache'
6) Boot recovery, wipe everything and restore.

Recovery has nothing to do with it. Fastboot can flash anything, whatever is there. You can flash recovery, hboot, system, data, radio. It doesnt matter whats already there.

I kinda knew that but I wanted to be sure. So just to double check with what you mentioned earlier.. If I flashed a corrupt cm7 hboot it wont knacker my phone?

@GingaB - I just re-flashed (in fastboot) the old CM7 hboot table - I didn't take note of the MD5 but i did check it when i downloaded the img file so i know it's fine. img file is on my pc at home but i can do a MD5 check when i get back and post it on here if you want comfort of checking against the toolbox download?

I did take down the partition sizes - system is 130MB, cache 5MB, and whatever's left for data

Yes that would help.. :)

Ok Su but since Im not doing anything for few days there is no harm in verifying MD5 for the img from Saltire....

The toolbox ones are confirmed working. Everything in there is.

I've got a few of the other old tables (stock, data++ and another i can't remember) that may be useful to someone if added to your toolbox SU. Know that only sizes that changed were the Oxygen and CM7 tabs, but the other prev tabs don't have the new downgrade protection - dunno, might be of use to someone?

Ah yes that would be great, thanks.

You can both call me Dan by the way

I got the MD5 from XDA so thats all verified. I decided to go ahead with flashing cm7 hboot and its worked well except to the point I have to "boot recovery".

This is what Ive done so far:

1) Nandroid backup in recovery.
2) Verify the MD5SUM of the file
3) Flash HBOOT with phone in fastboot mode (Back+POWER) -> 'fastboot flash hboot bravo_alphaspl-cm7.img'
4) 'fastboot reboot-bootloader'
5) 'fastboot erase cache'
6) Boot recovery, wipe everything and restore

I am stuck on 6) booting recovery am I supposed to select "reboot" or "reboot bootloader" from the list in fastboot???

I think I am supposed to "power down" then "boot" back into reovery and wipe everything then restore?? Am I right??

CM7 hboot working well so far! Just one question. Once the internal space runs out can I activate A2SD in MIUI XJ rom? Or will that be a problem?

No worries. I dont use a2sd at all anymore. Got rid of the partition all together.

I do think when you get more au fait, you should look into custom....

Yup defo thats the next step for me but I wont be needing it for a while. Ive gained 70mb out of this and all in all I have 178mb free internal so I got truckloads of space now!! Might even delete my partition but Ive leave that on my SD card for time being.....

PS your right about one thing before I could have gained another 20mb from system via custom MTD... Oh well!

what is the partition sizes of the cm7 1 hboot please? is that better suited for miui rom?
also is it easier to do it through hboot or using android flasher?
