some people already have it...

This guy's a phone dealer, which explains why he has one now.

However, there have been reports of people going into local Best Buys and getting them if they specifically ask. Apparently many have only 5.

I just picked up one about .5h ago from a BB.

Target had none in stock, but the guy in the area was just covering as the normal guy wasn't due in until noon so he really couldn't check much. The BB across the street had none but the girl checked local store stock and the next closest one had 5.

On howardforums, someone reminded us of the 10% coupon in the USPS moving kits, so I hit the PO on the way over and so got it for $286 out the door.

I installed the battery and powered it up, 0.98GB storage available (5X better than OV already), and like the larger size. Just powered it back fdown right away though as it had like a 35% charge and I've got it on a charger ATM.

Will attempt the phone swap once it's fully charged up...

Also like the size. The OV was kind of itty bitty to me, sort of like the Archos A32 which was OK for that as it's a PMP that can kinda sorta do other things.

Now to sell the OV, maybe the Archos A43 16GB as well as it's kind of redundant w/ this phone I think, yet time will tell.

Bunch of other people on howardforums have also reported successfully getting them from BB excepting it seems East coast ones as someone in MA said they were in transit expected Tuesday...

[EDIT]
Forgot to check the batt label befor einserting but someone on howardforums did and reported 1380mAh... I'll try to remember to double check that later, although it really won't matter IF it gets even close (or more) than OV run time...
[/EDIT]

did it come with a microsd card?
how sensitive are the buttons on the front?
once you get it charged could you give us some full res shots from the main camera?
outdoor daylight no flash
indoor lighting with and without flash
low light with and without flash

maybe up a short test video in HD

and obviously it's too early to begin asking about battery life

Yeah, after I get everything setup to my liking it just (literally) finished charging up and all I've done is swap phones...

Initial indications to me seem to be that cell signal is not quite as good as on the OV, while WiFi is about the same. Cell may just be some aberration ATM won't really know for a bit...

Didn't come with the earbud/speaker thingy, just AC adapter, USB cable, and SD adapter for the uSD...

Now back to setup...

OK, double post, but got most of my apps on the new one... (free ones don't seem to get attached to a Google account... sucks... but I knew that from tablets before as well...)

831MB still free... AH! The FREEEDOM!

Pretty responsive overall, although it did behave a little wonky in Amazon's app store app when multiple downloads/queued were going...

Seems to be MUCH more useable for browsing than the OV EVER would be as well...

I suppose that I should try to find something picturesque now and then start charging for the start of the real usage testing...

Ah crap! I just took some pix and video but it defaulted to 640x480! grrrrrr!

I dunno why? Every other Android device/phone that I've owned ALWAYS defaulted to max res/etc.

Try again after my charge tops off. Got it down to 81% with all my installing brief web surfing, xfering stuff by sftp, etc.

so who's brave enough to try and root it with gingerbreak? :p
Not me today(and no real reason to ATM). Likely not going to have time to post any more today. Just hoping that I can squeeze in the pix/vids before I go silent for the day.

Oh, and the LED (which apparently functions as a notification blinker) also goes green when fully charged. (I'd just assumed that they went cheap and it was only red and just went off when charged...)

(I still want to move my 4GB uSD over from my OV today as well... getting pressed for time...)

Overall, I like it a lot. However, the screen is weird... not the look - it looks great, but the feel - as weird as this sounds, my finger doesn't slide across it very easily... never felt this before on any other phone

Just scored the phone at best buy. Personally went to 4 different best buys. Salesperson did not see it listed in inventory. Checked a few crates by the register and found 1 box. Manager diddn't want to sell me the phone until next week but caved in and sold it to me anyway. First impression of this is a really nice phone and worth all the hassle trying to get it.

Thanks goto black gravity for letting me know the phone was available at best buy and cutter john for the u s p s 10 percent coupon for best buy.

Blah, you guys are so lucky. Last night and today I want to 3 different Best Buys, with no luck. Looks like I'll be the first one there on the 19th the second the store opens.

Can you enable the mobile hotspot with the Quick Settings (or similar) app?

Are you able to actually connect to it?

There is no quick setting for Internet Tethering on this phone as far as I can tell...just the usual Airplane Mode, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Settings, Bluetooth, Bluetooth Settings, VPN Settings, and Mobile Networks. I haven't tried any third party apps.

I notice this phone doesn't include a Task Manager nor does it have a My Files app. No big deal.

I haven't activated my phone yet...just using my home's wifi...I tried to activate the phone through the phone's app and online to no avail...were the other two Triumph owners able to activate?

Quick Settings is an app that enables wifi hotspot.

What's the link?

Figured it out. Probably can't test until I'm activated. Just testing using my WiFi only connection on my phone the Quick Settings will not allow me to turn on mobile wifi hotspot; again most likely because my phone isn't activated and doesn't have a signal. Will let you know as soon as I'm activated.

I picked up my triumph last night at my local Best Buy (Orlando area). The truck had just arrived and they were still sitting behind the counter. The guy sold it to me no questions asked.

Some things to report:
-XDA modified netflix app DOES work
-Quadrant scores are respectable (1650-1750)
-Camera quality is decent (as can be seen in the pictures above!)
-UI is quite responsive, no "LAG" as others have commented on seeing in the various hands-on videos posted months ago
-Screen is bright and colors are vibrant
-Notification LED is actually behind the earpiece grid.. kind of interesting
-you can remove the SD card without removing the battery (my old Droid 1 required pulling the battery which was a a pain)
-Build quality overall is good. It isn't built like a tank like my old D1, but considering how light it is for its size it is a good trade-off in my opinion
-To boot into recovery hold the volume down button while powering on. This enters a loop of polling for an update (presumably from the SD card??) I way I found to "exit" this mode was to pull the battery.

Just clean your screen. The plastic protector that came on it actually has adhesive on the back and some of it transfers to the screen. Use a good microfiber cloth and buff the screen. All of my most recent devices have had this same "issue" (Asus Transformer, Nook Color and now the Triumph)
