Root [ROM] GB-CMod7-Beta

can someone answer a few questions i have about this rom?
1. i only have expierience with moto phones, the recovery that i need to flash this rom with is stock recovery? or is there a custom recovery somewhere?
2. i see that mms is fixed, besides gps and bluetooth, are there any other common bugs?
3. do headset earbuds work perfectly fine for music?
4. is this rom in rom manager?
Thanks!

1) Its custom recovery, to my frustration I discovered all the stock recovery does is put you back to metro defaults.

2) GPS and Bluetooth both work fine for me, a bug that I'm facing is that I can't hardware decode my videos as well as not so good battery life (I run out in about 8-10hrs), partly I figured is due to wifi, for some reason wifi pulls a lot of juice.

3) Headsets work MUCH better than the stock now that this comes with the DSP manager

4) Idk it could be but im not sure.

I knew that had to be the problem because the cyan blue frame it left leads me to believe it was the cyan theme. I bet the app must be just some data monitor btw right?

Google Music Widget, Control music playing from the home screen

I don't have TB pro. Just the free version. I flashed cm7, and used TB to restore all missing apps+data. Rebooted fine. Now how should I go about restoring my system data?

Also, how do I , if possible add apps to the dock?

I've been truing to figure out how to restore a back up with Titanium Backup. I finally flashed a ROM earlier this week and just redownloaded my apps. It was a bit of a pain. If I can just restore a backup that'd be great.

If you get the free version, you'll have to manually approve each restoration, which can be cumbersome for someone with a buttload of apps installed. If you can get your hands on the PRO version, it's one-click restoration. Either version offers the option of restoring the app, data or app+data. Useful if you don't want to lose that high score or high level character in a game.

Thank you, but how do I go about doing this? So, before I flash a ROM, I copy the contents of my SD card to my computer; then after flashing, what's the process to get my apps back? I assume I have to re-download Titanium back up. What do I move back to the SD card so I can restore my back ups? I do have the free version, but doing it one by one might not be a bad idea. I can pick and choose if I actually want it on the phone again in the new ROM.

My phone no longer makes any noise for texts. There are NO silent settings or anything like that enabled. Doesn't vibrate either, but it never did with CM7.

Nevermind, got it to ring. Still doesn't vibrate though.

Yes you would do this before flashing.

Once you backup an app, it and the data are automatically saved to the SD Card. There is an option that makes Titanium Backup store it's settings on the SD Card, enable this option so it will automatically know where to look and your previous settings when you reinstall it.

Your Titanium backup folder will be clearly labled under the default settings. Move the folder as a whole as it is easier than sifting through app names.

You can still pick and choose individual apps to backup and restore, but the free version will make you say "yes" to each app if you choose batch restore.

So is anyone else having the " E:Can't open GBCM70.1a2SD.zip (bad)" message in Recovery mode? I really wanted to try this one too dang it!

Sorry I am so rude and didn't educate everyone. I expect a higher caliber of answer in this "all things root" section of this forum.

Seriously... I've been spending time on XDA, much more informative. I don't know if they have an Optimus forum though, modding the Nook has been more entertaining; way more development going on.

Sorry I've been awal for a little while on this. Been working over time at work but I'll get around to an update as soon as I can. With the ot I might even be able to afford some broad band!

Did you start out a genius with this stuff? Did you know all the answers? Of course not. Neither did anyone else. Not sure how many forums you've participated in before, but if you think about it, people come here for different reasons. Some just want to ask a quick question, and others use it as a place to learn. Why would you expect all experts in here? Granted, some could use Google or search around on this site a bit more before they ask, but if someone is new to/has questions about rooting, roms, etc., and they can choose between "LG Optimus M" and "LG Optimus M - All Things Root", where do you think they're going to go?

I guess my point is that while you "expect a higher caliber of answer" here, the reality is that sometimes you will get an expert answer, and sometimes you will get a reply from someone who's still learning. That's any forum. It's entirely unkind and unnecessary to respond to someone who's still learning as if they're beneath you when they've shown no ill will.

have yu tried the toggle signature verify?? yu need to hit that before flashing anything into your device. once yu hit it, it should say "verification: disabled" then try flashing the rom again. hope that helps :)

I wasn't trying to be a dick, but if someone isn't willing to read but is willing to offer advise that is what they get.

If they just read my post and used a little comprehension they would have realized my question was beyond their scope of expertise.

Having a little bit of a GPS problem. It tracks my location as Wake Forest, North Carolina, but I'm in New York City.
