LG Optimus One

The long awaited Gingerbread update for the LG Optimus One has started rolling out in Romania. Users here have reported that the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update is doing extremely well in their devices. The news of the update is contained in an LG facebook update. The update is also expected in the rest of the world in the coming days.

The LG Optimus One is one of the devices that is easy to use and can even be used by those who are new to smart phones. Some of the features of the LG Optimus One include a 3.2-inch HVGA capacitive touch screen resolution 320 x 480 pixels, a 3MP auto focus camera and a 600 MHz CPU powering the device. Android 2.2 is also on board running the show.

Other features on board the LG Optimus One include, blue tooth connectivity, WiFi connection and support for features such as FM radio, media player and You Tube player.

With the entire above features the LG Optimus One which was announced officially on 14th September last year has all the features that characterize an average smartphone. As other users all over the world look forward to the Gingerbread 2.3 update which we hope will fix some of the problems that have been experienced with the device, many are hoping this will happen sooner than later, and for those in Romania they can continue enjoying the update for now.

I dealt with this back and forth waiting game with my ascend and that's why I have the Optimus m now cuz I didn't want to wait anymore, but instead of getting a new phone this time I am just going to root my Optimus

Way behind been rolling out for at least a week

Article was July 7 and I posted it the 10th, so that's not a week. Can't count, can you? It wasn't "news" until it had been confirmed. Some people claim stuff that's not true, so it has to be checked out -- therefore it's not just a rumor. Plus, it had not been posted here so many Optimus owners didn't know, bucko. :p

Edit...
That was really mean what I said. Ill let the sheep stay with the flock

didnt catch your post before being edited but I should not have posted my comment either, so if it had anything to do with that my apologies...the end

Not to start anything, but I can confirm it was "news" for a while, lol. Android Central and several other sites posted it on or about June 26th and it was made known by LG Russia. But you are right in that some people here may not have known ;).

Funny the ascend updated to 2.2 a while back

So my question is this: How does this affect us M owners when this is for the Optimus One owners?
The entire Optimus Letter family (M, S, T, U, V, etc) is basically rebranded or stripped down versions of the Optimus One. This bodes well for us because after a few tweaks for the hardware changes, LG should be able to provide the update to us as well, if not developed in tandem. If anything, someone might find a way to get the ROM on one of our compatible cousins, like the V, and someone can try to convert it for us as they did with the CM7 ROM.

nothing new from metro yet? i talked to my local store and they have never heard anything of a 2.3 update for the optimus.

I recommend saving your breath, Metro will tell you nothing only run you around, any doubts read the 2.2 update is official thread I created for the Ascend....they are so rediculous when it comes to giving information...If you dont feel like searching for the thread one example is I had an agent tell me the update was released, the date it was released, and the two ways of applying the update...only for me to find out not only was it not released but no date had been specified.

Don't use the stores. Even corporate stores didn't know 2.2.1 came out after it had been out for 3 months. They thought they were still selling "2.2" and claimed the LG Update was a lie.
