Help Swype keyboard not working

So I decided to download Swype to give it a try. I followed all the instructions on how to install it but I cannot get it to work. After the install, I verified that Swype was selected in Language & keyboard however when I try to type a TXT or EMAIL I do not get the Swype keyboard, I'm still getting the Sense keyboard.

Any suggestions?

BTW, I'm running the official 2.3.3 update from Verizon.

Swype works pretty well for me. What I find annoying is it won't show words it doesn't recognize in the list. I have to tap the letters in and then select the new word. I believe it remembers those new words, but I need to test that a bit. What bugs are you experiencing?
 
I am playing with my friends Incredible because she doesn't liek the touch and it doesn't automatically have Swype, so I looked for it in the market and do not see it. Some help on this please? I have had it on my phone for so long that I forgot how I got it on there.

You can sign up for the beta swype on the swype website. They will send you an email with the installer.

I am experiencing at least a 1 second delay from hitting the key till when the letter actually pops up. And the black box for the suggested words will sometimes take up the whole upper space, above the keyboard making me unable to see what I type. It happens once every 5 times I click in a text box to type. And it is only when in the browser. But all other apps it works like a charm.

wow, how long does it take for them to send you the email after registering? I registered last night and still no email with link to install, checked my spam folder too. nothing...
