Help Droid x maintenance to improve speed

My DX seems to be slowing down a lot. Not responding as quick as it used to. Have tried battery pulls but doesnt really fix it. Are there regular maintenance things I should be performng to help with this?

What are the steps to clear the dalvik cache for the DX?

My DROID is stock. I haven't changes anything. That means Im not rooted, correct?

uninstall apps that you never use. some apps have services and those eat ram and cpu cycles

Install watch dog. See what is using your CPU. Get rid of any that use it for no reason.

I just did a hard reset last night hoping to improve speed, battery life, and some issues that started with the Gingerbread update. We'll see. I had too much junk on it anyway.

No, I prefer to keep things simple on my phone.

Thanks all. I did clear my cache which seemed to help. I do need to go through and uninstall apps Im not using also. I installed watch dog to try it out. My Droid also started acting buggy with the gingerbread update. Phone would randomly go dead for no reason. Also started having problems with Pandora hanging up or shutting off. Hopefully these issues will be resolved with updates.
