Root [ROM][WIP] CM6-Ascend (CyanogenMod 6) Current: 04212011 (Cricket/MetroPCS MMS WORKING!)

Thanks to PlayfulGod, Pip2kk, and tokenpoke for such a great rom and tutorial! my ascend runs much smoother and has been stable for a couple days without a hiccup! However there is a little bit of a strange issue or 2... It seems maybe something changed in the stock browser, i could use the stock 2.1 browser to watch my security cameras without any app. Depending on my connection at the time i get a refresh about every 2 seconds and the pictures would just change seemlessly. It seems now when using the cm6 stock browser the whole page refreshes and causes a considerable blinking affect.. really making it hurt your eyes to watch after a minute. I have tried a bunch of setting changes but nothing has changed it. Anyone have any suggestions to fix this?? I do realize i can use a different browser but was hoping to try and stay with stock.

Also the cameras hard button doesnt seem to work, and u cant select the last picture taken from the little window to look at it. And the swiping through pictures in gallery doesn't seem to work.

Honestly i dont even really use the camera.. just thought the devs might wana know.

I guess i might need to try a different browser... any suggestions?
 
My Screen orientation is working fine without setting home in memory or whatever it is called. for me it seems going to cyanogenMod settings> user interface> select both 90* and 270* and also have reflow after pinch in selected and my orientation seems to work real good. (you have to reboot the phone)

just thought i should add that.
 
If all the tips, memory lock, 90, or 270 degrees, doesn't work, try a app called autorotate control on the market, ever since I used this, I have no problems with my screen rotation. On some ascends, no matter what you do, it will still get stuck, not all ascends are the same. Sometimes, without warning, it will get stuck, even after some time, this is the only autorotation app that cures it for good.
 
And by the way, does anyone know how bidirectional the usb port is? Does anyone know about a portable usb flash that can be plugged in ?

you for like the camera? None I know of, not to mention the phone prolly wouldnt know wth to do with it if there is lol
 
Seriously, if there was a small flash that could be utilized, maybe from a camera store( like ritz cameras) and had the right connector, plus associated software, can the usb port recognize it? If so, would be great, especially with barcode scanner, if not, it would be a goldmine for a company to create one, even a clip-on, with a swivel connector to loop over the top of cell.
 
A company called viatek, beat me to it, just as I described, it clips on, and they say it's brighter than any cellphone flash, saw it on amazon.

you did good, it might just have been that person phone, lol everyone has there opinion so for the ascend it might be a big step up...;)

For $6 buy a good flashlight lol. I don't think a flash will help this crappy camera be any better anyway.

not unless u take pix in the dark all the time. In good light it does ok pix, but still sucky compared to almost any other phones camera out now.
 
unlike others, this is my only one( I don't call my little tracfone a cellphone, just a emergency can with a string), so I have ro get the most out of it

Too bad they must have had a bunch more of the screens left over, or the Ascend 2 might have had multi-touch lol.
