QM started before that with Max Planck postulate of the quantization of light (the wave/particle duality). Although Einstein continued his work, and probably deserves more credit (his work was more general, and he have a more compete explanation). Planck was the first nobel prize winner for work in quantum theory. IF you had to pick only one person who started Quantum mechanics, I'd vote for Planck.
 
Was on the phone with VZW and asked about the update. I was told there won't be one; that they scrapped it after they ran into problems porting it to other devices. Take it for what it's worth, just teling you what I was told.

...I have gingerbread...it's called root your device. Evan...seriously chimes about QPh and QM and elicits replies? Does anyone really use 720p on a device which doesn't do 720p justice? I'm so happy with Cyanogenmod I will get a new phone when Ice Cream Sandwich is out. Yes official Gingerbread will bring full stability to Gingerbread ROMs but Cyanogenmod is so legit that we should all root and be over this. Plus, the bunnies, gargoyles and all other offenders must be laughing at us. ICS will make all of this irrelevant very soon.

This, plus, like I mentioned before the current ROMS are either built off of ports or the leak which had bugs.

Not saying their not nice ROMS, but building a ROM off of the "official" release should theoretically at least be more stable.

Maybe I'm giving VZW too much credit who knows...
 
Oooooh.. I'm getting all excited to see what the excuse will be for GB not coming on Monday! Testing on outdated phones? Network issues (always a popular choice), unspecified testing problems, spider monkeys unplugging all the network cables in the data center (it could happen!)

Update caused a small percentage of test phones that were running 1.5 to fire laser beams from their AMOLED screen. No word on how it affects SLCD devices.
