Root question about purchasing RoM manager

i have the free ROM manager app for rooted users ( for i am rooted). IF i purchase the premieum version of it will i be able to flash a custom ROM thats close to the stock 3.70? i dont know exactly how to put the ROMs here in some the the threads on to my sd card and then install it manually. thank you for your help.

Whatever rom you want to flash you will have to download first, Rom manager is simply an app to manage roms and backups, but if you have not downloaded any roms nor have any backups to manage, then it doesnt do anything

The only app I've paid for is Ti backup. The free ROM manager does everything I need it to.

Once you learn how to flash roms you'll realize that ROM manager doesn't make it that much easier. In fact I'd say it just slows the process down in my situation.

Download the ROM you want to your computer.
Plug in USB.
Mount as disc drive.
Drag and drop file to the root of your SD card (highest level of sd card)
reboot in recovery

How much easier can rom manager make it?

Go ahead and read this guide:

http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/194918-rooting-dummies-extras.html

Section 3 under "After Rooting" will give you instructions on how to do it either through ROM manager or manually through recovery. Make sure you make a nandroid backup before messing with any of this. Instructions for that are in the guide as well. Of course, if you're just using ROM manager, just select the option to backup. I assume ROM manager says your current recovery is Clockwork, correct? If not, you must flash that, since ROM manager will only work correctly with it.

Thank very much for sharing. Question about purcharing is interseting. It make me thinking about for developing my project. I'll share soon again.

This link below can show more info, you can find them at: purchasing manager job description

Good luck.

Hi,
I am also very interested in this subject, but the reference is very limited. You can share documents as well as experience? Thanks!

welcome to the forums!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would not recommend rom manager. i would do everything manually in recovery.rom manager tends to be very buggy and has been known to create more problems then it is worth.

The only real useful thing rom manager does in my opinion is flash recovery. Everything else is much easier to do in recovery. Especially if you download the superwipe.zip...it formats the boot ,system, cache and data 3 times..then all you have to do is flash the rom of your choice afterwards...(if your coming from a rom that used a2sd,and you have an ext 3 partition, you need to manually wipe the SD ext before flash the com..its in the wipe menu) other than that you do not need rom manager. As stated above,it will just cause u problems...and you can run and tell that,homeboy..lol

That is what I used ROM Manager for, to flash Amon RA. It didn't even do that right but after 3 tries, I got RA on my phone. Never used ROM Mgr since

Not worth buying. You can get all the roms and updates manually. Plus you can donate to the dev, with Rom manager you don't have direct access to donate.
