Help Another charging question

Hey guys, when you charge your captivate, do you let it drain down to 0 first, so that the phone turns off? Or can you start charging at 1 or higher? That being asked, do you have to charge your phone while it's turned off or can I use it while it's charging? Which is the best way?

Thanks in advance =)

Btw, I have already posted this on another category, but did not get any replies...so I'm posting it here to see if anyone here might help me, ty.

You can use your phone while its charging. And when you charge it is up to you. What's best for your phone is as simple as what's most convenient for you. You won't see too much difference anyway you go about charging it.

As Android26 pointed out how you choose to maintain your battery is up to you. I have tried multiple methods of battery maintenance and care and I have found that the lifespan of my batteries seem to very little base on full discharge/recharge vs. maintaining full charge. My personal choice is to keep my battery charged as much as possible to avoid my phone shutting down while I am using it.

The big issue with a LiPo battery is that you use quality chargers. LiPo batteries will not accept overcharging. Overcharging a LiPo will severly damage the cells and could possibly cause the battery to catch fire or even catastrophically fail *EXPLODE* :D. If you see your battery begin to bulge from charging you should replace both the battery and the charger. The Captivate has a built in battery management system that does this for you but should you ever choose to purchase an OEM charger make sure it is designed to charge your battery. My two cents!

The only thing i have noticed that is somewhat odd compared to other phones is that when the phone is left on, with the display on the whole time, it has a very low charge rate. Sometimes the battery even would discharge somewhat.

I don't usually do that so its not really a problem for me.

While rare, it is possible to have a poorly designed application consume more power than the battery management hardware/software is able to replenish. Running video or leaving the screen on will cause the recharge to take longer.
