No I didn't =(. I think my phone is stuck on the red eye now.
I also didn't make a backup. Well I have a backup but this backup was when I just first bought the phone so it won't have any of my apps.

My first bootup took a long time. If it hangs forever, I'm sure another wipe and reflash will get it back up and running.

Sure would be nice to know if the RUU includes an updated hboot. If they keep it at 0.92 we won't have to worry about all the "I accepted the OTA, can I still root?" threads. If anybody has insider knowledge, do tell.

Ouch. Good luck. I'd say try for a full wipe, don't forget the cache and dalvik too just to be safe. And when you get it up and running go to appbrain and put your apps in a list there for safekeeping. I know it's hindsight but better to learn now and just have to reload than to make a paperweight

So theres no way I can keep my data, apps, photos, and game save files I had? What if I copied everything from the Internal memory to my PC?

If you copied to the PC you should be ok. Or if it's on your sd card. The apps may be the only things that won't save all info unless it's from a backup.

If the phone doesn't boot then remove the battery, go into recovery and do a full wipe then reinstall the ROM.

By installing this ROM you will lose all your data and this will be just like when you got the phone the first time and you will have to set everything back up and download all your apps. This is why you make backups using titanium backup or similar app or have google backup running. If you didn't have any of this data backed up before hand then its already gone. The sdcard is never wiped so all data on it is safe.

The OTA itself doesn't wipe data and is part of the reason getting updates out from Verizon takes so long.

Thanks! I was not doing a good job explaining.

We're getting a little off topic here... we need to bring this back to complaining about Verizon still holding up the update? Really? More testing? How long has the Inc been out? How long has GB been out? How much testing do you need???

Its not testing. Someone realized there wasn't enough bloat on it yet.

Ohhhh... gee thank Verizon.. there isn't enough crap on my phone now (really? Skype? Do you need to be running all the time? I DON'T USE YOU!)

:D

And that is just part of why I rooted. Skype is no longer anywhere in my phone. Neither is slacker, and I took out a couple other things too. It's so much fun. And I'm just now hitting 30% battery after moderate use (although the Phandroid App is a killer) - took it off the charger at 6:01 this morning.

a lot, considering they are trying to send out an update in a way that doesn't *require* you to factory reset your phone. It is not an easy thing to accomplish. But, no matter how much they test it, there will still be a substantial number of users who will have to do a factory reset after updating.

Also, remember the majority of users have no idea this update is coming or what it is. The "suspense" is the downside of being a knowledgeable user.

I've been running the ROM since 730 this morning and haven't had any problems. Anybody running into any issues running the rom?

Wait I just turned on my phone again and waited longer on the Red eye and it worked. I didn't have to wipe any data.

I was gonna say, sometimes the red eye is on there a while :)

I just have this feeling they want to make it impossible to root tether (even though they've already got a redirect), or something else majorly F-ed up. Why else stop a perfectly fine OTA? At this point, I wouldn't let VZW do anything to my phone.

Exactly. Another reminder to backup SD card contents and any pics/vids/etc from internal storage prior to the OTA. You never know when it comes to OTA updates.

Hello this is Evan from Verizon Wireless NRB,

As you can see the update has been delayed yet again for further testing. I think everyone is starting to realize now how easily and often these updates are halted at the very last minute. Now everyone can finally see for themselves what I have been going through when trying to report all while everyone was aiming (mostly friendly) sarcastic comments at me.

All that crap I said about VZW, I guess I take it back; the keyboard doesn't rotate, for one. :(

Anyone else run into other bugs w/ the leaked ota?

Uh huh... We see a pdf and other evidence the the update is/was coming.. but not a word from you in a while.. You'd think something would have been said....

And seriously.. what "further testing" can / is being done??? Can you find out that? Or how long? Or SOMETHING concrete? We're not asking for much here...
