Does anyone know how to get rid of the extra splash/boot up images? I have a custom one that replaces the "HTC Incredible" screen but the "HTC quietly brilliant" and "DROID" still pop up after. Save me!

Still debating whether to unroot and go stock when Verizon releases it. For those of you with doubts, the 2.3.4 rom is FAST. Bootup in literally 10 seconds. Sweet baby jesus in a birch bark canoe!

Again, this thread is NOT about the skill of the development teams not employed by VZW.

Which in my opinion can only be questioned by someone who knows nothing about the dev process. Nor what it takes to be a good developer.

We ARE NOT gonna be putting down anyone, especially not the hard working devs who truly do what they do FOR US, the users.

Let's get this thread at least partially back on topic guys (and gal, lol)

Well i got rid of the annoying droooid sound at startup so i can run this for awhile now without being annoyed. :D

I am having an oddity with Dolphin. Screen tends to shift randomly once in awhile like its trying to reflow page content. Also the loading indication bar seems to move as though its refreshing. I think they might be happening around the same time.
 
With how rude the one dev was being about just stating that the source had told him not to give out the RUU and the Radio I am guessing that this "Official OTA" is really just a leak. Guessing it is close to what the real OTA will be but probably going to have some tweaks and more bloatware :(

I'm still waiting for this stinking upgrade but may have to run Unrevoked to load the image since VZW can't get themselves together. Must be a strike related sabotage.:rolleyes:

Christ, it's on it's off it's on again, it's off again. Funny, the most wanted phone back when it was to come out is still having the same problems. First it was released, then it wasn't. Newer models which have yet to break the level of "unique" that the INC did back then are updated first which IMO still do not have that "unique" level of the INC. It will take one hell of a phone to break the barrier.

My guess is the packets about to go to your phone have gone on strike and have picked up picket signs taunting you about bloatware.:p

Really? That's actually my only regret of having a custom Rom installed, is the lack of that boot screen and it's accompanying 'Droiid'. If I ever go back to stock I'm going to run around in public turning my phone on and off so everybody else can love it as much as I do. (tbf, it'd be cooler if it said 'Androiiid')
 
Back in the day, I had my computer say "Ready to serve" when it booted. I would love that .wav for my phone.

10 internets for the people who understand where that came from (should be a good judge of age (and video game savy) that this forum has).

If you're rooted, you should be able to change the screen and sound to whatever you want. Might be trickier on some roms more than others idk. Anything based around a stock like rom is usually pretty easy.../system/customize/resource/VZW_bootanimation.zip and VZW_droid.mp3.

Wow, i just fixed the build prop because you (verizon) decided to just use the sprint ota version of the prop. I had to just so i could see verizon apps in the market instead of sprint. I cant see defending this great verizon dev team. I always have to fix things. I hope everyone enjoys the ota leak.

I've never been sure what happens when you delete the VZW_Droid.mp3 so I've always swapped it out with a silent clip. Keep it the exact same name, use Root Explorer to move the original one out of /system/customize/resource and move the new one in to replace it and done. Anwyay, that's how I do it and it works great.

Here's the one I use renamed to the proper nomenclature for instant use:
MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service
 
I'm still downloading >.< stupid download site I have FIOS dammit and a 30Mb connection and I'm downloading at 340kb a second - I usually download at 3.6MB/s :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

I'm sure the guys @ VZW are great devs; they're just doing what they're told. But the guys at Rootzwiki, xda, etc are also good; one of the customs (cyanogen) just got bought by samsung, and miui could make their own phones it's so good, so it sounds pretty shrill to call the non-big-3 devs 'amateurs'.

Btw, my 'bug' went away after a reboot, yay! The thing was fast and tight &#9829; ...alas, I like the newer Sense /sigh/ but it was nice to see what they have in store for the Dinc.

There was another rom in the same thread (might be in the OP now?) that got rid of the splash and sound (and plenty of directions how to do it manually if you don't want to reflash &#8212; no link, the thread grew gigantic, sorry!).

the sound is VZW_Droid.mp3 found in /system/removed of the rom in question. Just move it to /system/customize/resource and you'll have your DRRROOIIIIDDD sound on reboot.

Let me guess, you downloaded the hacked up "leak. You can thank your hobbyists for altering the ROM, not Verizon. The official OTA has not been released.

You have proven my point.

Im being very serious, the official OTA has not been released and I would strongly recommend NOT installing any hacked leak onto your device as you surely run into issues as described above.

Me too!! I will happily take roms from the devs we love over damn near any stock rom. Yes, we know there will be some issues but the devs get them fixed and re-release. Meanwhile the official update is delayed yet again.

I told you guys to make sure the monkeys were locked up.... You know they are the ones responsible for the delay.
 
whew, ppl trying to put someone on blast up in here.

The OTA was ready and publicly announced; the OTA got stopped by vzw to fix bugs; and the 'hobbyist' delivers awesome OTA.
 
If anyone can find me the how to remove stock boot screen/use custom image, you shall get +1 :)... I've been searching for an hour..... -_-
