I am sorry sir but again that is simply false. Verizon has a development team far more advanced than a few beginner developers on XDA website that play with ROMs and as you can see the ROMs that come out of the XDA website are always buggy and unstable with lack of features. It is required to have a deep understanding in the core fundamentals to produce a good ROM and this is why stock ROMs for the Incredible have always been superior to any 3rd party homebrew.

Coming from someone who doesn't have a rooted phone and has yet to experience the wonders of XDA Developers, I'd chose XDA over VZW on every account. The MUIU Developers seems to know what they're doing too. Only reason I haven't rooted is in fear of bricking the phone and patiently waiting for VZW to get its act together with GB. Trust me. VZW Developers could learn a thing or two.

If you're rooted, you should be able to change the screen and sound to whatever you want. Might be trickier on some roms more than others idk. Anything based around a stock like rom is usually pretty easy.../system/customize/resource/VZW_bootanimation.zip and VZW_droid.mp3.

Danke. I managed to get the bootanimation working, (no offense Nils, I just like the Incredible one) but not the sound... tried VZW_droid.mp3 and android_audio.mp3 but I'm just sol on that one I suppose. Oh well!

Wow, i just fixed the build prop because you (verizon) decided to just use the sprint ota version of the prop. I had to just so i could see verizon apps in the market instead of sprint. I cant see defending this great verizon dev team. I always have to fix things. I hope everyone enjoys the ota leak.

Incubus! Thanks for the great work! I was just coming to mention the Market not updating and no Verizon apps..... Thanks much for the quick fix!!!!! The rom runs great!

Let me guess, you downloaded the hacked up "leak. You can thank your hobbyists for altering the ROM, not Verizon. The official OTA has not been released.

You have proven my point.

Im being very serious, the official OTA has not been released and I would strongly recommend NOT installing any hacked leak onto your device as you surely run into issues as described above.

I don't think downloaded is the word for it Evan...... pay some attention to what is going on and being said..... LMAO!!!!

 He downloaded the hacked up leak and installed it on his phone only to find that (as usual) it is riddled with issues created by the hobbyists.

This is exactly what happened.

Nope, if you were paying attention the proper terminology is that he flashed the rom, found a couple problems, told the developer about said problems and had a fix right away.

I've never seen vzw do anything that quick (other than charge us for things)

This is the great thing about 'hobbyists ' - we can get our gb from them and not worry about what round of ota pushing we are in.

You don't know how correct you are. I mean, it's not like one of the handset makers is just going to go out some day and hire Steve Kondik to come work for them.

Back in the day, I had my computer say "Ready to serve" when it booted. I would love that .wav for my phone.

10 internets for the people who understand where that came from (should be a good judge of age (and video game savy) that this forum has).

WW 2 wasn't ? one of the peons?

Wow what happened to the thread. During the whole update fiasco in July when Evan got the Inc mixed up for the Inc 2 I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt as to if he worked for Verizon or not. Now however his posts are purposely meant to enrage people and not add any real info to the thead.

Actually the gentleman in question (I'm pretty sure) IS the one the ROM was leaked to. HE WAS the one that fixed the VZW SCREW UP.

The VZW SCREW UP that he found is actually, probably the reason the update was pulled. Thanks for playing :)

( I now correct my previous remarks about our "insider", there is no way anyone but a actual VZW employee could be so obtuse. Now that doesn't mean he actually knows anything at all :P)

SO WTF is the problem now. Aren't these people supposed to know what they are doing? Hey Verizon, take you shittty bloat off the update! Maybe if Evan and his buddies spent less time posting here and more time working on the update, we wouldn't have this problem. So, it's another 2 weeks?

Oh and btw...cooking ROM's is a more productive "hobby" than misleading people on a forum.

Not exactly what happened although nice touch with the tone of confidence...he received the official RUU leak, fixed a few things with it as he stated, and then released it as an improved rom. Incubus was the first guy to release a GB rom from this leak.

No offense taken. I didn't design the whole thing anyway HaHa I like the stock one myself but people clamber for something different to make the ROM stand out.

Your sound should be /system/customize/resource/android_audio.mp3 and it is case sensitive. Once you put the sound in you need to clear cache and dalvik or it may not work.

Try this one

Maybe, but at least they get ROM's out! VZW doesn't seem to be able to do that.

If only the weather lock screen and the shortcuts on the notification bar were there this would be a perfect rom! Very awesome fast boot! It's by far the fastest, hands down! Just timed it, 9 seconds from power press....8 seconds if you exclude holding the power button down.

Random, but after trying to do the change the date on my phone trick, all of my text messages are jacked up, because they were from the "future." Sort of annoying. Just thought I'd let everyone know.

I know that was one of the things the alliance peasants said in WarCraft II (and the knights I think).

Text somebody asking for tomorrows Lottery numbers and then do the date trick.
