Official Bionic Release Date Thread

True, if a model is known for design or manufacturing failures then those may well be present in refurbs (often customer returns). And I certainly wouldn't buy a used hard drive or any component likely to be abused by a previous owner -- blown speaker?

That's an easy fix and cheap if you can do it yourself as long as the basket and the motor are in good condition.;)

if the Bionic doesnt come out by sep 8th i'll be pissed, then maybe i'll wait for a different phone. the one thing that would make me wanna get the Prime is that its supposed to be the first phone with ice cream sandwich. but if its gonna have be 4.6 inch screen i think thats way too big. i was already dreading the idea of when the Bionic was supposedly going to be 4.5 inches.
If the Prime does away with the current capacitive buttons, in favor of the honeycomb styled ones, that would offer more screen space, without physically making the device bigger.

For this reason, you may want to consider the screen size relative to the actual physical device dimensions.

im not too keen on the differences between capacitive buttons and the honeycomb one. is capacitive like the physical buttons you have to push? whats honeycomb then? like what i have on my Incredible?

Capacitive buttons are separate from the screen, Honeycomb buttons are just icons on the screen.

I googled fixing blown speakers and still couldn't do it. I hope your rates are cheap!

I get parts pretty cheap, the glue is what costs the money but either way, there's not much money in rebuilding subs since there's a lot of people doing it so the market is kind of flooded. Sometimes though, the parts and glue are more expensive than the actual sub! LOL But the parts I'd use will raise the power handling slightly and allow for abuse and essentially make the sub a lot better than it was. My rates are very cheap compared to some and I use the best parts on the market. Keep in mind though, I use parts that are built to be abused so they're meaty and not meant for home theater woofers with small motors but I can accommodate them with a lower end of parts that will still last but are more "home theater" and low power application friendly. That's a discussion for another time though so I'll stop cluttering up this thread, I guess it's something to talk about since there's no real info on the Bionics release date. :(

Some people root their phones, others hotrod their subwoofers. :D

I'm actually running subless now, just upgraded to a pair of Mackie MR5's. Strong bottom end, plenty for electronic music.

Fake. All I can hear is "thunderbolt by HTC on the most powerful 4th network". When will we get something real? If pre orders are going to be on the 1st (10 days from now) shouldn't we be starting to hear something.

Maybe it's inside of a store where ads are played.

The video Lars posted got removed :O
Glad I got a chance to watch it.
Although it's probably up somewhere else :P

I'm not sure where they went: it was either the video CK posted or Tesusenoh's post... but I have dropped some serious brain cells in the last few minutes :p

Hello gentlemen....

Seeing that the Bionic is getting close to release I thought I'd drop these 2 resource threads in case anyone has GPS issues. Seeing that the Droid 3 and Bionic both use the same GPS/Processor it MAY or may NOT be an issue but it can't hurt to have these threads at your disposal in case you or someone else run into the same problem(s)

These are for information and reference purposes ONLY because the Bionic deploys the same set-up (GPS/TI OMAP 4430).

Waiting for gps signal???

The guy said the Bionic will probably release with Ice Cream sandwich and the Prime will probably be the first to launch with it. Makes perfect sense to me.

Interesting. I did see people worried about the GPS of this phone. I do use GPS a lot... I think this just pushed me over the edge... I will wait for HTC Vigor.
