Root EXT4 TEST ROM for Advanced Users

System is very quick now but smart keyboard pro no longer works. Input won't stick

Edit: no market keyboard will

Let me see if I'm correct.

IF I want to go back to the stock rfs file system I just odin a ED13 or EE14 stock, rooted whatever...ect.

And I'm good to go?

Or is there something I'm missing?

after going with stock odin you need to flash the rfs cache in cwm or before using odin really.

okay i got an older version of the market to work fine, but i belive the issue was actually with link2sd and not the filesystem modules...i think what threw me off was initially i had all important apps installed into the rom, now i've had to leave a few on internal and the rest are on sd...all this aside as i mentioned before seems stable other than link2sd issues..battery life seems either as good or perhaps a little better than before...most significant improvemant i have found is a greater consisitency in speed and file access writes and so on....

in response to darktremors..i tried it with both shabby's kernel and hroark's...the above post is right...there are issues with bash and the prevail...

I've been on the test rom for a day and it is running very well. It's noticeably quicker and just as stable as shabby mod so far. I ran the v6 Supercharger script, which smoothed it out even more.
One error that popped up involved the calendar. The error reads, "app Cal Storage (process:com.android.providers.calendar) has stopped unexpectedly".

And finally, while the battery life was good, the shabbykernel RC1 was better. Does this kernel include killing logmein backdoor and adb on boot with root?

yes it does include that stuff.

what kind of battery times where you getting on shabbykernel RC1

edit::: I corrected, should have said RC1

and what kind are you getting on ext4

So far and this is just a 18 hours worth I say this works nice, quick and paired with the v6 scripts quite snappy battery seems ok I listened to music both with tune in app and stored music played with Miui the battery went down slightly slower then expected and after charging last night and very little use today battery is down farther then expected so just not enough time and information to make a real good determination.

i thought you went back to rfs and RC1

my phone is seeming to run smother with this... I had a issue with a couple of force closes at first but everything is fine now..

I did but as I posted in that thread dark tremors was not working with it and that was the only thing I was try out.

So I went back to this and I would have to say the phone response was good an then I put the v6 supercharger script on and wow for snappy response.

which settings are you using with the supercharger .. I was just looking at it and was wondering what to use?

I went with 17, it says experimental but it works
I was a bit hesitant and confused by all the options at first :D

I am still running the 1.2. I will probably try this out soon. Somewhere along the line I missed the v6 supercharger script stuff. Can someone please give me a quick crash coarse in this from soup to nuts?

Here is the brief mention
http://androidforums.com/galaxy-prevail-all-things-root/398674-acs-shabbykernel-rc1.html#post3100085

That post and down.

a brief rundown of what is needed, you need to get from market script manager and download the script from google put it on the sd card use script manager to open there is a list of options, 21 of them I think I chose #17 it said experimental though, and its been working well I think.
