Gingerbread 2.3 was here, then gone, now it's back

I dunno if it's me or what.....but the past few days my Incredible has been acting very wierd and laggy. Not sure if i'm imagining it or if it could be something with the upcoming update. The update to Froyo was too far back for me to remember if it acted the same way then or not. Anyone else notice this or is it just my warped mind?.....lol.

No, mine has been doing the same thing. It's been doing it for about a week or longer.

My neighbor's Inc has been doing the same. Weird. Mine is fine.
 
Hey everyone!
I updated my incredible to 2.3.4 . What I did is got the file over from dxa forums. Then rename it update.zip & did a hboot.

Now I'm running gb on my incredible with no problems right now.
 
Haha, I just re-installed the stock recovery image on my phone (I got it from dougpiston if anyone is interested). I know the update files are on XDA, but I realized that there's more to this update that just an OS. Its about the thrill of seeing that you have an update, downloading it, and installing it! The warm feeling that comes from knowing Verion choose you! Its about the hassles of needing to do a factory reset! I rooted, and felt like a traitor. I now stand with those that also must wait.

Ok I'm running the file from xda forums
File name:
6f37e6f6b9ab.OTA_Incredible_C_Gingerbread_S_VERIZON_WWE_4.06.605.3-3.26.605.1_release_210690
which renamed update.zip & did a hboot . it worked, now I'm confused sry , but someone said the file is a rooted file. am right or wrong?:eek:
 
Hey folks, I haven't read definitive word about whether this GB OTA update will cripple tethering. I currently use EasyTether Pro with my stock 2.2 build. Will updating cause EasyTether (and Pdanet, 3rd-party tethering programs, etc.) not to work anymore without purchasing the Verizon tethering plan? I really don't want to have to root my phone just to get tethering (worried about bricking it)...

I think Medion might have addressed this back in July (bottom of page 15), but I just wanted to double check, since I think more people might have the same question. I think the tether crippling issue after updating to GB might be only for the 4G Verizon phones.

Morning to everyone

Bear with me this morning , to clear things up that I've posted here.
1st thing I'm using my incredible right as I type this. Now yesterday I was Google ing gingerbread to see if here update for this phone before I sent it back to Verizonwireless for rebooting issues & overheating battery.

While searching I came across this forum which seem kool.
After reading a few threads I came across this link 1 here, then proceeded to here link 2 over at xda. Now after reading a few pages i see that what seem to be the ota rom

My phone just randomly rebooted.

I got all excited that I would find the little icon for the update.

But nothing yet :( It better hurry up! I was messing around with a rooted 2.3 this weekend and its just too cool not to have!

But then you take away the fun for those of us with the popcorn and beer. We still haven't seen a true 'GB broke my phone' in here.
