DROID Bionic And Accessory Bundle Costco Discussion Thread (Including Q&A from YankeeDudeL)

Sorry if this has already been covered.

All the stores near me open at 10am. Do the Wireless Kiosk employees get there at, say 9:30am or so? I ask because my boss was kind enough to let me leave work to go try and get the deal, but wondering if they will answer the phone before the store opens to verify if they have any in stock?

I'm sure Yankee is getting ready for the big day (can't believe it's here finally).....but here is my question:

So I understand their return policy, which is great. But after I bought my OG Droid, I had to return it to the Verizon store that afternoon b/c it kept rebooting. They had plenty in stock and swapped it out no problem. What if for some reason the Bionic I pick up tomorrow morning from Costco is a lemon and I need to return it, only to find out they sold out of the 6 they had in stock? Will I have to wait until they get a new shipment, or will they order a new one for me?

I wanted to relay my experience talking to a WSE at my local Costco. My droid charge has a legitimate screen issue with gray and black horizontal lines throughout that don't go away. I wanted to exchange it for a Bionic because I feel that the Super AMOLED plus screens will all suffer this issue eventually (I use my phone all day and at night as a baby monitor).

Long story short, the WSE told me they could not exchange for a different phone after 14 days from purchase. Their manager even reviewed the return policy with the team to make sure phone swaps were not going to happen any more.

I feel it's important for members of this forum to understand this before purchasing a phone at Costco and expecting to exchange it up to 90 days after the purchase. I think this is going to become less common in the near future.

Maybe I will try another Costco down the highway to see what they say.

Any thoughts on the return/swap policy and how individual kiosks handle it?

Ive contacted my local costco kiosk member and he assures me that I will be able to exchange my droid charge from 2 months ago for this droid bionic.
 

My local Costco told me that it wont be in stock till the 13th, so Im going to a different one that is about 15 miles away and they said they will have the Bionic in stock tomorrow with the premium accessory bundle. Guess it varies from Costco to Costco.

This is where I benefit from having a KM who's been around and knows what's up. See, it's slated to come with the next inventory, which will arrive on the 13th. That inventory has to go through a depot for processing. Cellphone shipments don't have to and they take about 2 days to get here after we get our inventory list. That was on the 6th. Rest assured, we will be selling it tomorrow.

A very relevant question that's phrased differently, so I'll answer. :p

We arrive at work at 9am. So yes, we're there. However, the guys I work with won't answer the phone before 10. I will, but I'm going to be there as a customer. :cool:

We can't order one, so you'd be stuck until the next shipment comes in. So don't through away that OG just yet. I'm sure we'll have plenty of Charges, DX2s, and D3s handy, though. :p
 
I spoke with a Wireless rep today, she said that they were receiving 5-6 at the store she was at, and that they were shipped Tuesday and Wednesday, so they may not have them in the AM, but if I were to call in her AM, and since I am driving 85 miles to get one, she said if they were there she would definitely put one aside as long as she knew for a fact that i was coming....

I'm liking the CSR at this place - hopefully she's the one I get to talk to tomorrow also. She had a nice, velvety voice....

Make sure you get your name and ask for her. If she's busy when you get there, make sure you tell the WSE that you talked to her previously. She's a commissioned sales rep, after all. :cool:

That's the good thing about our kiosk. I don't know how it works at other ones, but we do sales for each other all the time. We really work well together, and are not cutthroat at all.

My upgrade isn't until October 4th. Do you think that Costco will still have the Droid Bionic Bundle at that time? Or will you only have it for a couple weeks and that's it? Thank you!
 
Went to local Costco yesterday and bought a membership, now I'm already up and having coffee. The guy at the kiosk said he isn't allowed to say how many they have and that his manager has been very hush hush on the whole thing but said that the bundle will only be available in this store from 10am opening -12 noon. I'll drive out at 8, take a book to read for a couple of hours unless there is a line. If there is a line I already have an appt at my VZW shop to pick one up first thing when they open. Either way, I'll have this phone in my hands this morning!

I would wait for the Prime but who knows when that phone will be out... What I won't do is take advantage of costco's gracious return policy unless I REALLY don't like this phone (which I highly doubt) or unless it is bugged out. Root will eventually be (re)gained. I only mention this because the latest rumor is that the exploit has been patched and I don't want the bloatware. Plus I love some of the custom ROMs I've been using on my Incredible.
 
OMG it's POURING in the Northeast today.

hmpf - a little rain ain't keeping ME from waiting in line at Costco!! lol

So I get to my local verizon store and I see a line going around the building, must at least 60 people. OMG.... I have to wait in line with all these people?
.........Then I see a sign that says Droid Bionic Line starts here (which was completely empty:D
Oh wait...the line that has about 60 people was the line for the noobs that are lining up to wait for the iPhone 5.... Phew.:cool:

I am officially the first and only person waiting at the Costco in enfield,CT! 65 minutes to go!

And my husband and I are the first in Waterbury! Already had an employee stare. There are a couple of people in their cars, not sure if they're also waiting or not. We brought chairs and the first set of doors are open so it's not bad at all!
 
Are there really people lining up at Costcos? Other than the people posting here, of course :)

I plan on getting there about 9:45 or so, if there's a line or they sell out before I get to it, there are 3 other Costco's within 10-15 minutes... I should have a pretty good chance!
 
I called 2 costco's in south jersey and neither one has received the Bionic. They said try back tomorrow..
Guess each Costco receives shipments at different times/days.

Is it confirmed that this bundle is legit? Sorry for not reading the entire thread, but I do remember reading concerns that the leaked bundle pack might not actually be legit...

If it is legit, Costco, here I come :)
 
People waiting outside might have a long wait. I called again (NJ) and the guy told me that NO costco has received them yet, although they would be getting the shipment in the afternoon. He also took my name and number when I told him that I'd check back and run right over when they're in.
 
9:07 in Eden Prairie, MN. Nobody in line, but a couple people sitting in their cars. Hopefully this location actually has a few Bionics to sell.
