Root [rom] blackao5p v2.2.1 updated 9/19/11

I really wanted to love this ROM, but all it does is FC on me and I keep losing my signal :( What I experienced of it was great, I think I could be an AOSP convert with the right ROM...

Try wiping system and a fresh flash. I've had issues going to OMG based Tom's and not wiping system

My wipes before flashing this rom were factory reset, format /system, wipe cache and dalvik. Worked fine. Be sure you aren't trying to restore system data after the flash

I will definitely make sure I do all this and try again later. thanks again.

Did you wipe as per the instructions? What was your installation method. More details would help. Right now, I'm thinking that you did something wrong.

Yeah I flashed it seems as good as IMO's 3.5.8 which was my go to kernel and what I was running previously. Gonna try it today before I say anything about battery life

It must be my phone, cause Imo's kernels were AWESOME when I was running Sense ROMs. AOSP ROMs, however, net terrible battery drain. Yet, I always give it a chance every time he releases a new version.

Ahh auto correct goodness. Not sure why you haven't had the same experience with .8 that everyone else has.

i wiped my phone, cleared cache and everything, did factory reset or whatever, and i put the zip on my sd card, i went to install it and it doesnt take but a sec n says its installed... i rebooted the phone and it just stays on the htc screen like it has no rom. i went back to the sense rom that i left on my sd card and it worked fine.

Did you check the MD5. I would advise you to re-download and try again. It's suppose to work. I wiped data/cache/dalvik, format /system and installed that zip just fine.

Yes double check the MD5, if it is off it will not work. Also you should try formatting system. You are going from a sense rom to an AOSP rom, I have issues going from AOSP to AOSP sometimes without wiping system. If you are using CWM the format system is under mounts and storage, in TWRP it is under advanced>format menu. Try that if the MD5 matches.

Anyone have good experiences with Tiamat + the conservative governor? It seems like the bajillion clock speeds on Tiamat would be perfect for conservative which is supposed to ramp up in smaller increments than ondemand.

I've never had good experiences with Tiamat's kernels. I also never run consertive but your logic seems spot on.

Kinda related, I may be going back to IMO's .8 tonight. The 3.6.0 seems fair but the 10% drop I just got in 10 mins of use kinda deters me. I may try to run it all day and some tomorrow but at this rate I will be under 40% when I get home compared to the 60%-80% I normally see

I don't mean to hijack this thread or anything but I have some noob questions about this rom and cm7 or aosp roms in general.

The lockscreen has a tremendous amount of lag when unlocking the screen. It may take several seconds for it to unlock.

I have home locked in memory. I'm overclocked and I brought up my underclock. I'm running tiamats latest kernel.

I just switched to DTs roms after running chingys sense roms for awhile. I love the rom... I just want it to be as snappy as a sense rom.

Thanks guys

what is the m5 thing or whatever? n how do i check it?... i have seen alot of stuff about redownloading the .zip for it to work, why doesnt it just work the first time?...

What governer are you using? I don't have any lag with unlocking, I also don't lock the home screen in memory.

MD5 sums are ways to identify files on a computer system. On your phone you can check them with AFV

A file can be corrupted if the download is interrupted for whatever reason. In general if anything in the file changes the MD5 sum will also change to tell you that you should try to download it again.
