Root [rom] blackao5p v2.2.1 updated 9/19/11

I am running this now. I did a full wipe...it has been a while and I was having weird notification issues with yahoo mail (repeating notifications for mail I had deleted).

Tried Tiamat for a while...and decided to go back to eclipse mostly because I did not feel like going back and figuring out all the voltages--I already know what works with eclipse.

I did a full wipe and it flashed fine with TWRP. I am loving this rom currently. Gonna try no overclocking and see how tiamat's kernel does.

I'm using clockwork mod version 5.0.1.0. I fully wiped and it said the file had an error. Since some of you got it to flash, it must be on my end. Any suggestions of how to fix?

Try a different version of cwm or a different recovery. Lot of people have been having issues with the new versions of cwm

This is my favorite rom yet. Battery life is much better than shift for me. At least as fluid as liquid thunderbread with no signal drops.

I don't understand why people don't just update to the latest CWM version anyway? 5.0.1.2 works.

Discovered the issue with the yahoo notifications is universal. Should have read the market reviews--best place to find out if the problem is the app or the phone, etc.

I usually give recoveries, radios, and bootloaders (anything flashed in hboot) a few days to get a good field soak in before I flash. Or at least a scotty soak, lol.

Yeah, I understand. But for some reason, with these backend related items, I always think that it's good to keep things updated due to any possible bugfixes being built in.

Just flashed this rom and all I have to say is that it's the fastest rom I've ever used, hands down. Everything is instantaneous. Definitely my new favorite, going to be using this one for a while.

I'm curious, does the "Shift Settings" have all the familiar CM settings, or is it still missing some a la OMFGB?

It seems pretty complete from what I have seen. I normally have to go in and fix a few things like quiet time, etc. and they were all there. I also use the CM settings instead of setcpu to set the governor and overclocking.

Edit: Plus I think I recall DT saying he liked the CM settings and wanted to keep them in one of the 200439820985 DT threads on the 3478327593 forums he posts on.

Do me a favor Cool Breeze check under display>auto backlight and see if there's a "edit other levels" Also, is there a 4G/3G toggle widget yet? (interface>notification power widgets>widget buttons>toggle 4G/3G)

edit: very funny about all the threads and posts, so true. I'm back on old faithful, but I'm curious about this build

There is a notification option for 3G/4G I haven't tested it. The tablet settings are missing but I think everything else is intact. I call put up some screens later tonight if you want.

As to running on the stock kernel with not overclocking that was a bust for me, tried to play a gameloft game and the processor wasn't able to get fast enough back to Imo's .8 and its all good

I'm thinking of switching kernels as well but was wondering if there was a way to get back to the original kernel if I did.

Thanks, but you don't have to post screens. My screens never end up looking like the ROMs anyways :)

Yes, there is, just wipe cache and dalvik and you'll have the stock kernel that came with the ROM
I try that but settings still shows Imo's kernel. Doesn't seem to change anything. Do I need to be ins safe mode for that to work.

Try reflashing with only wiping dalvik and cache. It shouldn't cause issues and I think it will put you back on the original kernel. Or just download one of the kernels from the store

It's little things like this that I hate about DT's ROMs. I don't know what he does, but things tend to hang around, or get stuck with his ROMs.

As Yeahha said just wipe cahces and reflash the ROM.

I would think so.

Has anyone tried flashing the burnt zip or one of the other zip files. He has a new one out called whiteout which looks like a white theme with black highlights, thinking about trying it later if the zips work.

Ok so I updated clockwork and it installed just fine, I didn't even realize the update was avail. Any how I'm not a fan of the side scrolling app menu, is there any way to change that? It reminds me of my wifes Charge which I'm not a fan of.
