Root [rom] blackao5p v2.2.1 updated 9/19/11

MD5 sums are ways to identify files on a computer system. On your phone you can check them with AFV

A file can be corrupted if the download is interrupted for whatever reason. In general if anything in the file changes the MD5 sum will also change to tell you that you should try to download it again.

i redownloaded it twice and installed it, still doesnt work, same thing happens.....

Okay, did you check the MD5 sum? How are you flashing it? What all are you wiping prior to the flash?

MD5 should be: 899add99bac244a18e487f904b8dded2

Click on AFV in my above post ;)

nvm i downloaded the app, and checked it, its the same as yours.. 899add99bac244a18e487f904b8dded2

i used rom manager to install it the second time and it still didnt work. i checked delete cache n all that.

Don't use rom manager. Boot into recovery manually and be sure to do a factory reset, format /system, wipe cache, and wipe dalvik cache. Rom manager is an app that can mess up and give you problems.

That should have worked. How long are you letting it sit before the battery pull?

You just basically cleared the 2 areas on the phone that roms are installed in so it shouldn't have any issues for you. Perhaps try a different recovery (be sure to make a new backup before you wipe) TWRP works great for me.

If using cwm for your recovery, make sure you're using the latest version. The latest update fixed some nasty bugs that caused said issues for others trying to install this rom.

i did it in the recovery screen, the clock work mod... how do u update cwm? but i tried it with rom manager and thru that, i did everything yall said, i let it sit for about 45 seconds to a minute before i pull the battery

You can find download links for CWM in the sticky (at the top of this forum) called "Radios Recovery and HBoot." Or link to the thread here

You should let it sit WAY longer than 45 seconds, the system can take a while to reboot after you've made changes. I think one of the threads says at least 15 minutes before you decide it's hung up.

It sounds like it is hanging at the splash screen. I don't think I would let my phone sit for more than 2 or 3 mins at the splash screen def not 15. I think DT says to walk away so the kernel can set in but I don't think I've been stuck on a splash for more than a few mins before unless it required a batt pull

wow ok... ill let it sit and im updating cwm first... just incase. I rly like the rom im using now , i hope its better. im using CM7 with ADWLauncher

i hit reboot system now... instead of batt pull, then i batt pull when it sits on htc screen and i go back to the hboot by holding down the volume n hit power n go back to my back up and restore, and restore my other rom n stuff

it worked! it went straight to the android screen after i installed it n did a battery pull

the UI or whatever is ok...
whats a good governor, and what should i set my min cpu and max cpu on?

Okay I thought you were somehow rebooting from the splash screen without a battery pull.

It took? I didn't mean to have you do a battery pull in recovery, I would chalk it up to the new version of clockwork instead of doing a battery pull in recovery, I wouldn't suggest making that a habit ;) not sure if it could cause issues but who knows. make sure to get the battery door secure so you get a signal otherwise you will have no or crappy signal.

i did the cwm update, but did a batt pull anyways... oh well it worked lol. so it automatically has adw launcher on it? is that what it runs off of or can i somehow change that? where do i get that kernal?

im using smartass right now
