Root Metro pcs 3g coverage map

crazy thing is by this map there is better 3g coverage int he freaking ga mountains than in atlanta..go figure
 
Yeah I'm calling BS on that map. Haven't seen a lick of 3g in Genesee or Oakland county MI... Running 3022 and I switch to evdo occasionally in hope to see that icon.

Edit to add: When I switch to evdo I lose signal, but if I go outside I get 2 bars back but data never even attempts to init. So... maybe something is being upgraded here in the Flint area...

No 3G in the northeast Detroit suburbs! 4G is in the D and the Clem. Nice name btw! :D

Hey, at least you live in 4g land, we only have 1x up here in flint, I'd buy me a 4g phone if it would do any good, lol. And thanks, had to use a name without dood in it so I can go more than a week without being b&. Be a dick one time and no one wants to forget... LOL

EDIT: Update: Managed to get 3g icon today by forcing evdo. I had 4 bars after it switched to evdo and I tried web, 3g icon poped up, it timed out and I lost all evdo signal completely and had to switch back to cdma to regain signal. It's like they kicked me out for being early to the party. :(

It's gotta be close... I got a 3g Icon in Grand Blanc yesterday. All over in Genesee county I can force my phone into evdo and make calls, trying data on evdo gets me nothing at all, or the 3g icon comes up but it never connects then I lose all signal completely.

I'm sure Detroit is in a similar state. Put in prl 3022 and dial *#*#4636#*#* and change to evdo and see what ya get...

When i had my samsung code i would get 3g in sterling heights.
I updated my optimus to prl 3020 and didnt even get 3g there
so in the am i am going to try 3022.

Android what..will the wireless settings or a widget that does 2g/3g selection work
I cannot use programming codes in this rom

You might have to switch back to stock for programming codes to work.
 
3g comes in and out on my phone. And just wondering why don't metro just run the 3g off other towers like Verizon since metro goes threw Verizon on roaming???
 
No 3g in the west side of Detroit. I'll have 3G for about 40 seconds before connection dies... (and stays dead)
 
Hey..Anyone experienced 3G in Orange County, CA??? I live OC area in california and waiting for that magical moment for getting 3g work on my OM. using 3022 prl right now.
 
That map is bull**** plain and simple. Living in Trenton New Jersey gives me the advantage of actually having NY and Philly's coverage basically overlap almost the entire state and especially Trenton seeing as how it in the center of the two. I have yet to see 3G on my phone.

I read in the other thread that within two weeks it's going to happen but I;m not holding my breath that's for sure.

Where in Trenton do you live? Honestly, just because that map shows your city is in the "dark purple - 3G" part of Metro's coverage doesn't mean where you live is exactly 3G. Go to this site...

MetroPCS | Coverage

And enter in your address to see if you have the actual "full 3G" access. The dark purple means you should have it, or pretty close to always having it, while the lighter purple lowers your chances. I wrote this quick sorry if it didn't make much sense.

LOL, all these maps are a crock if you ask me, I live in an area they rate as "best" on the coverage map, and I have to stand out on my porch to get 1 bar. I have to go nearly a mile deeper into the dark blue to get a signal I would consider good.
